Alone at last

It had been a week since we'd returned from Lord Nicholae's castle. The next day I was dragged to a Council meeting where I was poked and prodded like some weird science experiment. The Vampires were excited. Excited by the news that not only had my Mark from Philip darkened and begun to take shape but that his Mark, a Mark no one had expected me to be able to give him, was doing the same.

Philip had been practically glued to my side the entire week, reluctant to leave me except when I would wander down to Alexander's apartment. This has put a hamper on any opportunities to train, though Alaric has given me some homework.  I've managed to get to the pet fitness center, with Philip or Sawyer, of course. Although I'm technically not a pet, I suspect that Philip doesn't trust me not to run. I have been working on my endurance daily using a treadmill and elliptical machine and using weights to build much needed muscle. I've also been out horseback riding. Philip usually joins me. He enjoys riding perhaps more than I do. We've even ridden into the nearby woods.

Alexander's new pet, Orlaigh was very nice

Alexander's new pet, Orlaigh was very nice. She is twenty two. She had belonged to King Nicholae. She was beautiful, of course, hand picked by the King himself. She was tall and curvy with beautiful sunshine blonde hair and light blue eyes the color. Alexander had wanted to change her name to Sky, but I loved her given name so much that he grudgingly agreed to keep it.

Lady Francesca also moved into the apartment, giving Sawyer and Poor Blue (as we've officially started calling him) a lot to do. I'm not sure if Alexander is sleeping with Orlaigh as well as Lady Francesca, but if he is, neither are staying in his bedroom. Each has her own room.  Lady Francesca has my old room which had been expanded and renovated to accommodate Vampire guests when the apartment upstairs took up Alex's spare guest rooms.  She shared her time between her room here and her old apartment. Orlaigh was in Sawyer's old room and Sawyer still had Silver's old room.

It's been a bit overwhelming with just Philip and I in his apartment. He's been very...close. If I'm reading he wants to watch. If I'm in the music room, he's in a chair listening. It feels...confined. I've talked to Philip about moving Sawyer up with us, but he has been reluctant to the idea saying that Sawyer can easily move between both apartments without actually staying here. So I rarely see my friend and confidant alone any more.

I go down to Alexander's apartment when he asks for my company, but occasionally I go down to hang out with Orlaigh...and escape my shadow.  She thinks I'm Philip's pet and I don't bother to correct her. I'm sure she wonders why Alex and I are so close and why I don't call either Master, but she keeps her questions to herself.

I found out she was from a village not too far from here. She wasn't part of the Selection. Her parents sold her outright to King Nicholae. She was treated very well by slave standards.  She had a roof under her head.  She wasn't tortured, though the King often fed until his pets would pass out, he didn't kill any of them.
