The Last Vampire Hunter

Chapter 33

It had been a few weeks since returning from my parents' farm. I don't recall much about the trip back from Region 4.  I recall that I had started feeling ill almost immediately after leaving my parents. Then I remember waking in our Master's estate the next day after we left.

Master told me that he had overfed on me causing me to suffer some side effects from blood loss. This was further complicated by the arrival of my menstrual period. The bleeding was aggravating the anemia I was suffering.  We ended up having to wait a few days at the estate before continuing on.  I was relieved to hear I got my period as I had been about a week late in my cycle and had feared a pregnancy.

The human servants had walked around me as if on eggshells and gave me sad looks. If only they had known that I had suffered much worse in my Master's care than a little blood loss. I wasn't sure why they were looking at me this way. I asked Sawyer, but he said nothing. He promised he would speak with the staff.

Soon we were back  at Castle Y Ddraig Goch.  Master had changed completely after the visit to my parents. I suspect it is because he now felt certain that I would not run away. My parents would be in danger if I did.

The first thing that happened upon our return was that our Master held an emergency meeting of the Council to tell them of my Mark. I was asked to attend this meeting but not speak. I sat in his lap for the meeting while the council leered in my direction. I'm not sure how Golden deals with it.  She wasn't at this meeting, but Master had said she sometimes attends.

After the meeting a team of doctors came to take blood, saliva and hair samples. The Council agreed that as a human, I would still need to behave as a pet in public, but I would be recognized by Vampires as Master's Mate. My Mark was evident and could be seen and smelled by any Vampire that came near me.

Really, not much changed for me. I had more freedom in our Master's apartment. I was allowed to spend more time in the library. I was given three meals a day rather than just the one.  When inside the apartment, I had a say in what I wore.  However, given that my wardrobe still only consisted of the various white and cream house dresses and pet costumes, I didn't really see this as a perk.  I've been trying to get Silver to make me some trousers.  She's promised to discuss it with my Master.

Master introduced me to the part of the gardens I'd missed on my trip to the greenhouses. The Labyrinth. I loved the labyrinth until he took me into one of the many hidden rooms and had sex with me on the fur rug and pillows. After that I was wary of going to that part of the garden as we usually stopped in one of the rooms.

He also took me to the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and to the pet fitness room. These were all new places I could explore.  Of course, I would still need to wear a collar and leash and would not be permitted to go alone. 

There was a Pet Playroom, but my Master said I wasn't old enough to go into that room yet, though he would see about getting me in to observe and see if there were any toys or games in there that interested me.

He'd arranged with the stables so that we could go horseback riding. He'd introduced me to his horses and I'd immediately fallen in love with a liver chestnut gelding which he gifted to me since Bella had remained at my Master's estate in Region 4. I named the horse Beau, and our Master laughed, loving his name. He had been bought especially for me, though Master said he had come with the name Hercules. I liked Beau better because he was such a handsome boy and I hoped to one day reunite with Bella as well so the names complimented each other. He then gifted me with several riding habits and a saddle and tack.

These were all exciting changes, but perhaps the best change was that our Master was now extremely busy with Council business. He spent a lot of time outside the apartment. As a result, he'd given Sawyer permission to take me out in his absence.  His only rule being, of course, no touching and no leaving the castle grounds.
