Prince Alexander

I watched as my beautiful little Aliana looked up at me, her eyes full of vulnerability and innocence. My body reacted to her immediately. I was rock hard under my pants. Fuck. I wanted her. But now was not the time. Not while she was like this.

The last few weeks had been a disaster.

First, Blue was supposed to die before the dinner I hosted in my apartment. I had paid that damned slave to damage the brakes on Frannie's car a few days prior. Frannie decided not to go into the city the day she was supposed to because of an unexpected snow storm.

Then Philip decided to call in his favor with Aliana that night at the party. It was that goddamned dress. She had every Vampire in the place panting for her. Of course Frannie left for town the morning after the party as Philip arrived to collect on our deal with Aliana.

When her car crashed as planned, she called me. Only it was as Philip began to feed. While I was distracted with her ridiculous ranting I wasn't watching Philip and Aliana. By the time I turned to look at them, I saw that Aliana was near death and I wasn't able to get Philip off of her.

Frannie being Frannie, had been telling me that her car was a total loss. She completely forgot about her pet until she mentioned she was hungry. Then she insisted I come with her to the local pet store to get her another. She hadn't even gone back yet to see if her old pet was still alive. I said as much and then turned and saw Philip draining my Aliana. She had already lost consciousness. I hung up the phone and tried to get him off of her. I eventually used one of the knives from the breakfast tray to stab him in the thigh to bring him back. By the time he let her go she was unconscious and then in a coma.

Now I had to tell her about her love's death. I felt angry at the thought of how much she cared for that boy. She deserved so much more than that pup could give her. He was supposed to have died before the party. Philip was supposed to have waited a few weeks before calling in his chips.

The only good thing that has come from this comedy of errors is that I've had some time to put together a plan to make her think I'm a fucking saint while she has been recuperating. This will hopefully ease her grief while bringing her closer to me.

I turned to her. "My love. I know that Blue held a special place in your heart." Ugh. I'm going to vomit.  She looked down, avoiding me. She always did that when she was hiding her emotions from me. From what I witnessed, the boy basically worshiped her.

"How..." her voice cracked. She wants to know what happened. In truth, the boy had been pierced in the chest with a branch. He'd hung there in agony for nearly an hour before she called and I reminded her to go check for him. My plan had included sending a Half Blood to the scene to kill the boy if he hadn't died, but thanks to Philip's idiocy, I wasn't able to do that. Thankfully, I could always count on Frannie's bad luck with pets to work in my favor.
