The sun rose in an array of beautiful colors. Pink, purple, orange and yellow. William took a deep breath, grateful to bear witness to the sun's slow ascent.  As the sun finally arose, he looked up at the new sky. It might have been a cerulean blue, but it was hard to tell over the black smoke that arose from the massive piles of burning cadavers.

He went to stand by the side of his comrade. The Mage Allister. They'd won the war against the Vampires.  Against all odds, they'd managed to defeat them. Those half-bloods that weren't already dead soon would be. "Thanks to your kin we now know how to identify our enemies. Your powerful spell has marked them and now we know who they were. They can no longer hide among us. We will hunt them and we will kill them. If they ever walk among us again their eyes will forever tell us who they are. It is the dawn of a new day."

Allister listened to his naive comrade. William was a good man. A good king. The Mages had sworn to protect Man and they'd sacrificed much to win the war. They'd transported the war to the Inbetween to minimize casualties. They'd poisoned the human feeders, lacing them with a potion that sterilized the female Originals. They then targeted the females killing off as many of them as possible. The purpose? Ensure the extinction of a species.  Without their female Mates, the Originals would soon die out.

Next, they found a way to flush out the Originals who hid among their human victims

Next, they found a way to flush out the Originals who hid among their human victims. When the Originals fed, their natural eye color changed to a glowing blue. A potion mixed in the blood of the human sacrifices caused their eyes to remain the bright glowing blue color. It made it almost impossible for them to hide among the humans and turned the war in Man's favor.

All Originals have fled to an underground compound, leaving their armies of Half bloods behind to fight their battles. But Mages have found their hidden compound and cast a powerful spell to lock the entrance of their compound. But that kind of power always comes with a price and now that spell is killing them. The Magic has exposed their life force to the elements and Allister and his Mage kin are already dying off. Only their best 100 warriors have been spared from certain death. These are the best of our Warrior Hunters. Allister knew it would be a matter of time before the Vampires escaped and reigned vengeance down on Man again. This time the Mages would not be there to help but their Hunters would be.

"Our Hunters will be there when the monsters arise." He whispered. Already he felt the weight of this world pulling him down. He would be dead in a matter of months. But his son...His son would live and so would the other Hunters. "Alaric, my son. You will hunt them down and destroy them." He walked over to William. pressing his hand on the man's shoulder in a sign of camaraderie.  They must prepare to leave the Inbetween and return to the world of Man.
