Chapter 11

Jaden POV

Me and Teonie had just arrived at my old house and got out.

I paid the driver and grabbed our things and Teonie and we walked inside.

Teonie: Mommy, you used to live here?

Jaden: Yup.

Teonie: This house is big!

Jaden: Yeah, come on Teonie. We gotta get inside and unpack for the week.

Teonie: Ok mommy.

I slowly walked up to the door of the house I once knew as a child.

This is it.

I took a deep breath before reaching in my purse for the keys.

I got them out and slowly unlocked the fragile, old door knob.

I walked inside with Teonie and locked the door to the house.

We dropped our things by the door and walked around the house.

Everything still looked the same pretty much.

I have to admit, my cousin took good care of the place like I asked her to.

I walked up the stairs holding Teonie and showing her every room and explaining what it was.

About 10 minutes later we finished the whole tour, and I grabbed our things and unpacked them upstairs in the bedroom.

I went to the kitchen to see if my cousin had stocked up on groceries and she didn't.

I looked around for Teonie and picked her up.

Jaden: Well Tee, you ready to experience your first day of California life?

Teonie: Yes!

Jaden: Ok, well today is just gonna be our settling in day. We gotta go shopping for groceries, I have to go rent us a car for the week, and we're gonna eat out at a restaurant tonight. That sound good?

Teonie: Yes!!!

I pulled out my phone and called a taxi.

We hopped inside and I strapped Teonie's carseat in the taxi and carefully strapped her in.

I told the taxi to drive us to the grocery store first.

We stayed shopping for groceries for about 45 minutes, then we had the taxi take us to a rental car service.

I rented a black Infiniti G37 Coupe Convertible.

I grabbed me and Teonie's groceries and strapped in her carseat and put her in it.

I grabbed the keys to the car and got in the driver's seat.

I started the car and pulled out the rental car service and let the top down on the car.

Jaden: We couldn't do this in New York everyday Tee!

Teonie: I know! I love Cawiforna!

Jaden: Baby it's Ca-li-for-nia.

I giggled at her mispronounciation.

Jaden: You want Chinese, Applebee's, Chili's, or Ruby Tuesday's?

Teonie: Chinese!

Jaden: Me too!

I sped off down the street into traffic as I remembered my favorite Chinese spot in LA.

After 15 minutes, we arrived at the Chinese restaurant and we walked inside.

Roc POV

All day I've been thinking about that face at the airport. It looked very familiar. I couldn't quite guess the name, but I had a feeling I knew who it was.

We didn't even get to catch our flight. We missed it because Ashley got sick. So we're headed back to the house. Maybe we'll get to go to New York next time.
