Oh... My Gosh guys. I'm sorry I haven't been updating... I had all these hard midterms and tests! But I'm back now. Lemme continue with this chapter.
Jaden POV
I actually ended up staying in California longer than I thought. Over the past 2 weeks, Roc and I had been creeping around... I guess he's the reason I decided to stay longer. Funny how him and mom were the reasons I wanted to leave.
Roc wanted to take me out tonight while Teonie wanted to stay with her "Uncle Ray Ray". She had gotten close to the guys also, especially Ray.
As I finished freshening up and making sure my dress was looking good, I did my makeup and grabbed my purse and my things.
I smiled and laughed to myself as I walked to Roc's house next door. It was just like in high school...man time flies.
I knocked on the door and out came Roc.
Roc: I was just coming to get you, but you came for me.
Jaden: Well you know I never like to be late.
Roc: I know, you ready to go?
Jaden: Yes sir.
Roc smirked at me and grabbed my hand and opened the passenger door and helped me in. He then closed the door for me and ran over to the driver's seat and got in.
We made small talk to the restaurant, but it was mainly silent.
When we arrived he helped me out and shut the doors and locked his car and led me inside.
He had reserved a table at the back for us with a candle lit and some rose petals on the table.
Roc pulled out my chair like a gentleman and sat across from me in his seat.
As we sat there, I looked in his eyes for a minute or so.
Roc: Something wrong?
Jaden: No, I'm just looking... thinking about all the stuff that's changed since high school.
Roc: Well we were in high school of course we were all gonna change a bit.
Jaden: I guess I can't say anything about that one.
The waiter then came to take our drink orders.
Roc: We'll both have white wine.
Roc looked at me for assurance and I shook my head yes. He still remembered how much I used to love white wine.
Roc: In that case, can you bring a bottle of it?
Waiter: Sure.
After a few minutes he came back with the glasses and the bottle of wine.
He left us to decide on what we wanted to order.
He came back 7 minutes later.
Waiter: What will it be tonight?
Jaden: I think I'll have the shrimp fettuccine with the garlic breadsticks.
Roc: I'll have the 9 oz New York Sirloin with a side of fries.
The waiter wrote the orders down as me and Roc sat making small talk.
Roc: So how was life in New York?
Jaden: It was ok, but I believe soon it'll be time to come back home. Here. Where I belong...
Roc: What was wrong that night... when "it" happened. You never told me. If you don't mind me asking...
I told him what happened as he carefully listened.
Roc: So is that why you're not going home?
Jaden: That, and I think it's just time to come home. I've been away from a lot of people I haven't seen in about 2-3 years.
Roc: I see. Does Teonie know.. I mean are you gonna tell her all this stuff that's going on?
Jaden: She doesn't know the deal with me and her dad. She's only 2, and if I told her, all she'd know was what I said. Maybe not understanding the concept of me and her dad not being 'close'.
Roc: Yeah, well she'll figure it out eventually.
Our food came and we kept talking about our lives as we ate and talked.
Once we were done we went back into the car.
As Roc started up the car, their song "Used To Be" came on.
I got a little sad, but didn't show it.
Roc kept driving for about 10 miles out of town and I knew exactly where we were going, the beach.
When we pulled up it was dark, and the stars were twinkling brightly.
I smiled as I looked at them, Roc and I came to the beach together for the first time when I was 15. We had a bon fire with some of our closest friends.
As we got out Roc grabbed my hand.
Jaden: I don't have a bathing suit.
Roc: I knew you were gonna say that...
Roc walked to his car and pulled out a familiar yellow bikini and some blue jean Daisy Dukes.
Jaden: Oh my gosh! How do you still have my bikini from high school.
I giggled and he smiled at me.
Roc: Remember that time after we left the beach and went to my house, you kept saying you'd come back for your bikini, but you never did.
I grabbed it and looked at it. I looked at the size and everything. I was still the same size from high school, skinny, but curvy.
I went to the outhouses and changed.
I walked out with the bikini top on and the shorts over the bottom of the bikini.
Roc came out the other outhouse with a blanket and a bottle of wine. He set the blanket on the sand and walked over to me.
Roc: Let's go for a walk.
I agreed and Roc wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked.
We took turns sipping from the bottle of wine as we giggled and laughed about old times.
Jaden: So what about Ms. Ashley? That model you're dating.
Roc: Eh, she's ok. She doesn't know this with me and you is going on. But don't worry, I'm fixing to leave her. It just isn't easy because she's apart of Interscope Records in a way. She's tryna get a deal with them too. So, we gotta all act cool with her.
Jaden: I understand, it's business for you.
Roc: Yeah.
Roc stopped walking and so did I.
He gently pulled me close to him and I stared at him as he pulled me close.
He leaned in slowly to kiss me and our lips slowly met.
I didn't fight it or pull back, I was happy to once be in his arms again.
I opened my eyes after we let go.
He grabbed my hand as we walked over to the blanket and layed down.
I laid my head on his chest and watched the stars with him.
He looked down at me and smiled.
I knew for sure he felt the same way too.
I smiled as I buried my face in his chest and he wrapped his arms around me tightly.
