"Ms. Jaegar, my son has been experiencing the same stomachache for the past week, what shall I do?", Mrs. Miller, a mother of two little children, consults the young doctor.

Amelia Jaegar is the first born of Grisha Jaegar, a single father who came to Shiraganshina with no memories along with her daughter. Despite of the tragedy, Grisha managed to pursue his career and build a family, in which her daughter got interested in as well, pursuing in medicine after years of being his assistant.

The blonde Jaegar fixes the ends of her gloves, a material that she wore since she was just a child due to the fear of people suddenly touching her. She used to throw tantrums when someone holds her hands, so her mother let her wear gloves to feel better.

"It may be for the best that you bring your child here so that I can truly check on him.", the young doctor says with her usual monotone voice, Mrs. Miller stares at her for a few seconds before Amelia breaks the silence.

"Or are you also one of those who are scared of bringing their children in because they might run away from home like I did?", the girl looks at the mother with a stoic look, "I am not forcing you to bring him here but I will not be at fault when the sickness worsens."

Even after settling at the opposite side of what used to be her house, Amelia's career has been always sabotaged by rumors of her family. A runaway kid has never been a good thing to hear, causing the people on her side of the town question her morals and create false assumptions that once their children interact with her, they will grow up to be just like her.

Amelia is not heartless, in fact, the town recognizes her to be caring towards them because of the huge amount of help that she has given them, despite her stoic attitude.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that.", the mother replies to the Jaegar, the doctor sighs in defeat, running her fingers through her light blonde locks.

"I'll give another medicine, I just hope it works out.", Amelia says before giving the poor mother a medicine for her son.

"Thank you!", she bows in gratefulness before she leaves the place.

She grabs her box of cigarettes, pondering if she should smoke or not. Amelia sighs once more before fixing her clinic for the nth time, a habit that she acquired due to the lack of control that she had during her teenage years.

Her parents were not bad, however, her father's consistent demands and expectations did not help. After reaching the age of wanting to become independent and choosing her own path, Amelia was always hindered by her father. Her mother, on the other hand, was always kind but did not say anything else about the situation. Amelia did not demand anything from her mother, she was grateful that Carla even accepted her as her daughter even though she was not the one who carried her.

I'm getting a headache.

The young doctor rests her head on her desk, eventually falling asleep.

"Oi, Amelia.", the blonde's gray eyes widen, she looks up and sees her so-called assistant, sitting on her desk.

"Oh sorry, I didn't notice you were taking a nap.", Nila says apologetically, knowing that her friend does not sleep that much.

"It's alright, I'm about to visit my brother anyway."

"Really?! You're going back there?", the green-eyed woman says in shock.

"Yes, Nila, I would always go and visit him whenever dad goes out of town."
