Amelia winces at Hange's screams, she attempts to cover her ears to tone it down but the scream was too much for it.

"Damn it.", she mutters.

Levi looks at her, also annoyed by the screaming.

"Poor Hange.", she whispers, empathizing with her friend who lost her two test subjects.

The short captain hears Eren asking how did the titans get killed, before telling the team to go back. He notices Amelia's hand reaching to hold Eren's, longing for comfort. Eren looked startled at first before gripping onto his sister's hand.

Interesting.

Levi thinks of this. He had never seen Amelia touch another human being, he wasn't sure why the girl was so sensitive when it comes to touches but he does respect it, relating to how he doesn't like touching people as well.

He is sure that Amelia doesn't come from the underground to despise dirt. So why? Eren doesn't mind people touching him, did something happen before?

Levi and Amelia had been friends for a couple of years, they were always stuck with one another due to tasks that Erwin gives them. However, Levi doesn't know that much about Amelia. 

She's a doctor, she's a soldier, and she's the older sister of Eren. She never mentions her parents and what happened to her five years ago. With what Amelia said about her odd skills and experiences, Levi can't help but to be curious.

What happened to her?

The sound of galloping echoed in Amelia's ears. She looks back at Levi to check if he's still there before looking straight at the path.

"Stop fidgeting and ride your horse properly, you're brother is fine.", Levi says with annoyance laced in his voice, something that Amelia has accustomed to.

"You don't know that, your squad was specifically picked because they hate titans and that they won't trust Eren quickly.", she frowns in the thought of Eren being cornered by Levi's squad, feeling her heart beat faster.

"If something happens, blame it on me."

"Damn right I will, I didn't have to come but you dragged me into it."

"You can't do anything, you're stuck with me, like Erwin said.", Amelia groans in response, muttering unpleasant words under her breath.

Meanwhile, Eld and Gunther talk to themselves about the Sawney and Bean situation, along with the upcoming expedition back in the castle.

"Assemble!", one of them immediately says as they see the horse of their captain and lieutenant arrive.

"Get ready at once! We're going on patrol!", Levi says.

"Yes, sir!"

"Good morning, Captain Levi! Lieutenant Amelia!", Eren says as he salutes quickly at the two.

"Listen, Eren.", Amelia frowns at Levi's words, "Don't fall more than two lengths behind. You're only allowed to wander around because I'm watching you. Don't forget that."

Amelia shoves Levi's horse using hers before smiling at Eren apologetically, acknowledging that Levi was right.

"Oi, get out of the way, brat.", Levi hisses at her.

"You could've said it nicely.", Amelia says to the captain sternly.

"Stop babying him in front of me.", Levi rolls his eyes, "Let's go!", the blonde scoffs at him before moving forward to patrol as well.
