Levi curses in his mind, is the Amelia he knows a completely different person? The whole thing made him doubt the girl in his arms. Was she purposefully trying to make him feel an attachment towards her? Trust her completely along with everyone else in the higher ups?

That's impossible, right?

He looks at her face once more, and then he remembers the confused and terrified look that Amelia gave him in different occasions. The anxiety that pooled in her eyes when she admitted her odd encounters with herself during the meeting. It must've took a lot of courage and will for her to admit that in front of superiors, people who might arrest her and give her up to people who would torture her.

Amelia is a brave woman, he knows that. She has proven that to everyone whenever she would save a soldier in a middle of a battlefield. But one occasion made Levi feel a chill in his spine when he saw Amelia breathing and alive, after witnessing her lifeless body on the ground. She called for him, trying to look for answers herself.

"I'm sorry.", Levi mutters, removing the doubt in his mind.

Maybe his attachment is making him blind for possibilities that paints Amelia as a bad guy.

It had been a few hours since the battle of the two Titan shifters ended, everyone was in their designated rooms to rest. Erwin was being interrogated by the higher ups. Amelia hasn't been responsive since she recovered from her leg injury.

Healing like a titan, so is the titan shifting hereditary?

His thoughts are interrupted by the sound of Amelia's voice.

"Where am I?", the blonde doctor asks.

"You passed out.", Levi answers the girl, "Are you okay?"

"What are you talking about? What are we doing here? Petra and the others are fighting that intelligent titan!", Amelia says angrily.

"What?", the captain mutters in shock, "Amelia, that expedition is finished already."

Levi looks into her eyes, the usual glint that the girl has is gone.

"Huh?", Amelia looks around her, "Shit, where's Eren?! He was bleeding and under a lot of debris!"

"It's done already, we successfully captured the titan."

"That's my brother.", Amelia points at a direction.

"No, your brother is in another room.", Levi sighs, "Amelia, please, lay down. Your physically and mentally in shock right now.", he remembers Hange telling him to keep an eye on the blonde girl, the trauma may be too much for her. Hopefully, she can be able to surpass it and move forward.

Moving forward was never her thing.

Amelia and Eren are basically experiencing the same thing, however, Levi knows that Eren is a kid who wants freedom, while Amelia wants nothing but good for Eren. Her drive alone isn't enough to keep her mind straight for her goal.

Because her goal isn't hers in the first place.

"Stop, you don't understa—", the girl stops speaking, "What happened?"

"Are you back now?"

"Back from what?", she frowns at Levi, not wanting to hear jokes at the moment. She sighs when all she got from the captain is stares.

"Did you see what happened earlier? Armin pulled out a big wood that impaled my leg, and it healed like a titan.", Amelia sighs stressfully, "I don't want to deal with this anymore."
