A puff of smoke comes out of Amelia's mouth as she breathes it out. She didn't know when and how exactly did she start smoking, but it has became a vice of hers after running away from her parents.

Amelia leans back on her one arm to support her head as she rests on the rooftop, next to her gloves that she has taken out to prevent the smell of smoke attaching to her beloved gloves. She silently stares at the starry night, admiring the view as she inhales smoke once more.

But the relaxing moment for Amelia was rudely interrupted when a certain captain kicks the cigarette out of her hand.

"Damn you, old man.", Amelia whispers under her breath.

"I heard you."

She sighs, before supporting her head comfortably by adding an arm to the back of it.

"What is it?", the blonde asks.

"We can all smell the smoke. Find another place to burn your life away.", Levi says with his usual tone of voice.

"It's better than dying from titans."

"Fucking disgusting."

Amelia looks at him for a second before bursting into a fit of laughter that soon became quiet giggles. The girl didn't know why she felt so giddy, but everyone knew that it was because she has Eren by her side. It was evident that her mood lightened up when he arrived, and even though it was odd for the squad, they are thankful for it as they prefer this Amelia than the emotionless one.

The blonde stops and turns into deep shades of red when she notices the sickening sweet smile that laid upon Levi's lips. The said captain immediately covers his lower face before coughing awkwardly to cover up the situation.

They don't know when or how exactly did they became close as they are now, just like Amelia's infamous vice.

Maybe because they were always stuck with each other, being Erwin's pair of toddlers to take care of. Or maybe because Levi's office was the closest one for Amelia to rant her brain out.

They don't know, they don't notice it but they were basically inseparable ever since their spar began. It was like they were strings that are tangled with one another, and now it's too much work to get rid of it, so it stays as it is, tangled, together.

"We should head back.", Levi breaks the silence between them.

"Yeah, we should."

Both of the superiors walk back to their dining area, only to be met with their whole squad, waiting for them.

"Alright, listen up.", Levi says, "Lieutenant Amelia is joining us in our squad, Erwin's orders."

"And with that being said, you all have to know a couple of things.", Amelia interjects.

"She is your superior, we are equals, yes. However, she doesn't lead the squad, I do.", Levi says.

"Knowing this, I don't follow anyone's orders as well. I decide everything on my own, whether it is to follow or not. I have my own objectives, which is to heal and try to save every one of the soldiers that are hurt.", Amelia points out, "Levi, I mean, Captain Levi will give orders to you guys and you should focus on that, not on what I do. I'm someone who supports the formation and tries to restore it. Yes, I am part of your squad but I don't have all my participation and focus in it."

"She's only here with us because our squad needs to be solid at all times, once someone is down, Amelia is here to help them back up.", Levi explains, "But don't let that information think that you're allowed to be weak and unreliable."
