"Ast are you sure you're okay?" Sirius asked.

"Yes, I'm fine, leave me alone," Asteria said, pushing him out of the way.

She headed to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of orange juice. She downed it all in one gulp and set the glass down on the counter. She headed out of the kitchen and back into the living room. Sirius was still standing where she left him and Remus looked at her worriedly.

She needed to go to the Ministry.

"Do you want us to come with you?" Remus asked.

"No, I need to go by myself,"

"But why?"

"I need to find out who I am,"

She walked upstairs and got ready. She hopped into the shower for the first time in days. She brushed her teeth and hair and got changed. She grabbed her wand and headed back downstairs to the boys.

Everything felt weird. Yesterday, she thought she'd never leave her room again, stuck in a pool of her own guilt. But now, she was feeling tons better. Not entirely, but enough to make her want to leave the house.

"Are you sure you don't need us?" Sirius asked again.

She nodded. She hugged him and then Remus. It took her a second to realise what she had done, Remus didn't push her away though. He held her tight and the smell of chocolate lingered after they let go.

She said goodbye then disapparated. Ast appeared at the Ministry of Magic. At least there was one good thing about going, she wouldn't be seeing Ben. He resigned a few days ago. Moody would've fired him anyway.

She walked to the elevator and pressed the level that would lead her to the magical archives. Once she was on the right floor, she walked down the corridor filled with doors. She didn't stop walking until she found a door labelled 'Family Records'.

Ast pushed through the door which led into a dimly lit room. She lit her wand and said 'Nott'. The light left her wand and flew around the room, illuminating shelves as it went by. It finally stopped infront of a bookshelf towards the back of the room. She walked towards it and browsed through the many files until she found it.

Her family tree.

"Lumos maxima," she whispered.

The room suddenly got brighter and she was able to see the family tree better. It was a box containing each member of her family dating back to early wizard times. Ast opened up the box and it sprouted to life. A tree emerged from the box, towards the bottom contained names of her ancestors, and towards the top contained the later generations. Each leaf had a name on it, a green one for a male and a yellow for a female.

She found her name at the top of the tree, next to her sister, cousins and... Oscar. His name was blacked out, her stomach churned when she saw it. Her eyes darted down to her mother's name.

"Who is your mother?"

Voldemorts voice rang loudly in her eardrums. She didn't know what he meant at the time but now she did. Who in fact was her mother? Who were her parents?

Tina Greengrass. Ast's grandmother, Freya Greengrass, was right above it. The space where her grandfather was supposed to be was blank. That was strange. The tree recorded everyone in the family, even if they were not married.

Her maternal grandfather's supposed leaf looked odd. It's shade of green wasn't like the other leaves, almost as if it had been tampered with.

"Revelio," she whispered, tapping the tree with her wand.
