Shopping for a birthday present for your boyfriend with Sirius Black is not fun. Here are some reasons why:
1. Sirius takes forever to pick something out because he gets distracted by almost anything.
2. When you do pick something out, he'll turn his head away in disgust and say that it won't suit your boyfriend.
3. He will refuse to enter some shops with you.
4. He complains A LOT.
"Remus won't like that,"
"That's not his colour,"
"Hogsmede has got zero options,"
"Can we go now?"
You'd seriously think that Sirius was the one dating Remus.
"Sirius, if you would stop complaining and actually help, then we can meet the others on time," Ast whined as Sirius put on a battered wizard's hat.
"It's not my fault we've got different tastes," he said, placing the hat back on the stand. "Plus we've already bought him something,"
"ITS A LEATHER JACKET THAT YOU BOUGHT FOR YOURSELF!"
"Remus would love it, plus you bought him that book." He smirked.
"Oh I give up, I'm never taking you shopping again."
Ast sighed and walked to the other end of the store where an array of self-shuffling playing cards were on display. She gazed at the different types of cards. They were supposed to meet James, Peter, and Remus at the Three Broomsticks once they were done shopping. Remus's birthday was tomorrow so this was the only time they were able to buy him a present.
Sirius walked up to Ast. "If all else fails, we could always go to Honeydukes,"
"I thought you and James were banned from there after you knocked over an entire display of sweets," Ast smirked.
"Oh right... I could just wait outside."
"You know, something about that doesn't make me believe that you're actually going to stay outside."
He ran his hand through his hair and grinned. "You're absolutely right."
Ast rolled her eyes as they exited the shop and trudged through the snow to Honeydukes. She entered and Sirius slipped in behind her.
"You're going to get caught," Ast hissed.
"Well if you don't shut up I probably will," he hissed back.
He stalked off to the chocolate aisle, only to be caught by the store owner and get kicked out.
He then took it upon himself to glare at Ast through the window. She looked around the shop, taking in the sweet smells coming at her from all angles. Loads of Hogwarts students were in there so it was hard for her to get to where she wanted to go.
She squeezed through the crowd and picked out some sweets for Remus. She payed for the sweets then exited the shop. Sirius was waiting for her by the door then they headed to the Three Broomsticks. They entered the pub and found James, Peter, and Remus deep in conversation at a table towards the window. James spotted them and waved the two over.
"Where've you been?" Remus asked as Ast sat down next to him.
"Oh... you know," Ast said, giving a small wink to James and Peter.
Ast called the landlady, Madam Rosmerta, over to order five butterbeers. As she brought the drinks over to them, she spotted Oscar and the gamekeeper, Hagrid, entering the inn. They headed to the back of the room and took a seat. They then lowered their heads and started whispering while Hagrid pulled out a stack of pictures. Ast furrowed her eyebrows, trying to wonder figure what they were talking about when a tall figure in the shape of Lily appeared in front of her.
