Common Room Parties

The month was almost over which meant that the boys would be able to transform soon. It had been fun that whole month because most of the time, they were quiet due to the mandrake leaves in their mouths.

James's almost fell out the day before. He was trying to get Lily's attention but Lily was avoiding him as usual. Thankfully, Remus didn't notice so it was crisis averted, for now.

It seemed that no matter how many times Ast told James to leave Lily alone, he'd never listen. She even threatened to cast 'Muffilato' on him but that didn't seem to stop him.

It was a Saturday night in the almost deserted common room. The only people up were the Marauders and Ast. Sirius managed to sneak in some bottles of Firewhiskey  and Butterbeer into school and they had been drinking it all night. There was a party earlier on because Gryffindor had won a match against Ravenclaw by a landslide.

"Move up Ast," Remus said trying to move her legs from the sofa on which she was laying down on.

"Nope," Ast said.

He still tried to move her legs but failed. He ended up just lying on top of her. She casually stroked his soft hair, knowing that it comforted him. The familiar smell of chocolate mixed with alcohol wafted around him.

Ast had never seen Remus drunk; earlier he was dancing around with a third year, which was very unlike him. But it was fun seeing that side of Remus.

Ast thought back to the Amortentia potion. Remus hadn't said anything about it and neither did Ast. There was a silent agreement to keep quiet about it despite Sirius and James's constant questions.

"SIRIUS!" Ast yelled.

Sirius was hand in hand with James running around like maniacs and managed to spill half of his drink on her.

"Oops," he hiccuped.

Ast pushed Remus aside and went upstairs to wash off. There was butterbeer in her hair and it was all sticky. Great. Just what she needed.

She tied her hair up, not bothered to have a shower now, and changed into her pyjamas. She headed back downstairs to find James passed out on an armchair. Peter looked on the verge of sleep and Sirius was nowhere to be seen.

"I leave for 5 minutes," Ast muttered to herself.

Remus grinned at her and she sat next to him on the sofa. Remus was curled up in a blanket. He put it over her as well and they were both as snug as a bug.

They were very close, their shoulders were practically touching. Her heart was thundering away in her chest.

"Cold?" She asked.

"Freezing." He replied.

"Don't worry, I'm smoking hot so this place will warm up in no time."

Remus chuckled, "you're beginning to sound like Sirius."

"Is that supposed to be a compliment?"

"Not really, Sirius tends to be full of himself."

"Well, I've always been full of myself so maybe it was fate that made us friends."

"Or a curse-"

"Oi!"

Ast went to lightly punch his arm but Remus caught her hand, he shot her a look as if daring her to do it again. And she did do it again, but like last time; Remus caught her arm. In the midst of it all, Remus managed to sneak a glance at her lips but Ast noticed.

"Looking at my lips are we?" She asked cockily.

"No..." he said, instantly going red.

Ast leaned closer to him so they were inches apart and whispered, "I think you were."
