It was a cold night on the Fourth of October when a woman having ashen blonde hair and green eyes saw a man named Ralph Niaflem.
Ralph was holding a baby who he called 'Lord Yuno'. "Licita!"
Licita stared down at her own son who she called 'Asta'. "They did it, didn't they?"
"Yes-Licita! You're bleeding!"
But the woman shook her head. "We mustn't stop now, old friend! Otherwise they're going to find us!"
The two adults knew that should the Dark Triad find them, they would be hanged for treason and the last prince of the Spade Kingdom killed on the spot.
But as for Asta?
He was also someone who shouldn't have been born.
"He's his son, isn't he?" Ralph asked the woman, helping her cross the ravine.
"He may be the son of Dante, but he will never know him to be his father," Licita spat. "Let's go."
The two could see a church a little ways ahead in the Clover Kingdom and they knew the children in their arms would be safe.
"I only wish I weren't so weak," Licita confessed as they crossed the ravine, hearing both Asta and Yuno cry at the cold waters.
"Trust me, Licita. You are anything but weak. What was that devil kid you saved?"
Licita shook her head. "I only hope that Liebe is safe. Someday, he and my Asta will meet. And when that day comes...though I shall not see it, I know they'll change the world."
Ralph looked back when he heard Asta's screaming get worse.
Only to see Licita with her face barely above the water, holding her son's wet bundle to him.
"LICITA!"
"Take him," she said in a shaking voice. "Make sure he gets to the Clover Kingdom. I'm trusting you with his life, Ralph."
Ralph quickly got Asta and held him, heading towards the side of the Clover Kingdom.
He looked back one to see Licita already gone, the waters already claiming her.
He took off his hat and closed his eyes for a moment, paying respects to one of his closest friends.
Your death will not be in vain.
So Ralph took the two boys and dropped them off at the doorstep of a church, using his magic to dry them off.
Meanwhile in the Spade Kingdom in the dungeons of the castle laid Lady Emilia Zogratis, giving birth to a daughter.
