[6] The End of Our Story

Reader POV

War was ugly.

It tears families apart.

It drives men, women, and children to the brinks of death.

Only to be cruel and never let them experience death.

I had sacrificed myself to the tree of stupidity my siblings were hell-bent on awakening to bring devils into our world.

However in the last moments as the last of my magic slipped away, I was saved by Charlotte Roselei and Noelle Silva.

In the last moments before I passed out, I saw my siblings all fighting till the end, all three of them insane with madness and power.

Lockheart helped me until the very end, even going against his older sibling Megicula.

As such, Lockheart died.

I used the last of my magic to heal everyone's wounds with my winter magic as my blood magic no longer was with me as Lockheart was killed.

"Winter Magic: Healing Frost."

And then I blacked out.

When I woke up again, I was in chains and in an unknown room.

"Where am I?"

"You're in the Spade Kingdom."

I looked to the side and saw Yuno.

He was dressed like a prince.

As he should.

He is the rightful heir to the throne anyway.

"Oh. I'm not in Hell."

Yuno leaned forward, disgust in his amber eyes. "Oh trust me. You will yearn for death, but I shall not grant you it until you have atoned for the sins of your siblings as well as yourself. And even then you will never stop atoning."

I sighed in exhaustion. "I've been suffering my entire life, Yuno. I'm used to it. So sure."

Yuno let out a humorless laugh. "See, you play the victim. God, it annoys me. Please just fuck off and sort yourself out without annoying me."

Ouch.

"Oh, and I have more important things like my queen to worry about," he spat.

Who?

At my confusion, he smirked. "You surely don't think I'd be single forever. You know, that Mimosa girl. She's been talking to me more. And unlike you, she never lied to me. Or used me."

Flashback

I glared at Yuno with annoyance in my eyes.

He was talking to Mimosa, both of them laughing about something.
