Chapter Seven

Chapter 7: Geronimo

The next day all around school was buzz about Jayse and I. Walking to my classes I had constant pairs of eyes on me, what probably didn't help was the fact that Jayse was in 4 out of my 6 classes and walked me to my classes, even the ones he didn't have with me. What probably saved his ass from not being late was because his classes were beside mine.

It died down by lunch though thank god, I still got glares from some of the other popular girls that didn't sit with Arizona's group. Jayse's friends and some of his football buddies were now sitting with us at lunch, which meant that Eli was with us at lunch now. I could hear Arizona's breath hitch for a split second when he sat down with us, along with Jayse and the rest of them.

"Dude," I whispered into Ari's ear, "gross, that's my brother."

Her face went beat red, and I started to subtly laugh at her, which in turn made her turn even redder.

"What's with Athena?" Eli ask's no one in particular.

"NOTHING!" Arizona exclaims almost as soon as Eli asked the question which made me laugh harder.

After I sobered up and made sure I wouldn't laugh again I whispered to Ari again, "Your secret is safe with me, even though it weirds me out that you have a crush on my brother."

(QUICK A.N. I changed that Eli and Athena were 7 months apart to them being twins and 7 mins apart, Eli is still older.)

Her face full of relief made me start snickering. Her only reply was a eye roll so that I wouldn't start laughing again and make everyone look at us.

"SO!" Ari began to change the topic, "Whos excited to do races in gym today."

"Were doing races? Since when?" A new voice speaks up that I have never noticed sit down along with another person. Who is that?

"Yeah, I forgot that you and Braxton weren't in school the past week and a half, sorry that I forgot to tell you Asher." Jayse says laughing.

So his name is Asher and the other dude that Eli is a serious conversation with is named Braxton.

"Football?" I whisper into Arizona's ear.

"Football." She whispers back.

"Maybe football will be our always." I say chuckling.

The look of pure pain on her face was worth the remembrance of tears shed over that one sentence. It also made me start laughing all over again, the worst part is the fact that she still has the look of pain on but its also now mixed with horror.

"What happened to Ari?" Amanda says once they heard my laughter and the whole table looked at the both of us.

"Don't ask trust me." I said after I stopped laughing.

"And who is this pretty thing?" Asher says when he finally noticed that other than Eli, who he already knew, there was another person.

"My girlfriend." Jayse said as Eli said "My sister."

"What? Say that again but at different times." Asher responded.

"My girlfriend."

"MY sister."

"Well this just got awkward." Arizona muttered.

Mr. Collins stayed true to his word and even during his free forth period set up two lanes that go from one end of the football field to the other.
