hello sjkhfdjs i got tagged by linosaurs to do this writing tag and since i have some free time currently, i thought why not and do it bc, well, the last time i did a tag was like when i finished underwater and it's been like 2 years HAHAH

[01] TELL US ABOUT YOUR WIP(S)!
there's actually a couple that i'm working on. if you don't already know, i have one called 'moons of jupiter' and another called 'skittles with legz'. the former one is an apply fic which i unfortunately haven't continued in so so long BUT i really want to go back into because i can't leave them hanging aaaa and the latter is just a random not-connected-but-kinda book. they're both stray kids fics hahjsfdsg aaaa.
so first of all, moons of jupiter is about this team of astronauts (now having a team of 17 members) being sent on a space expedition to find a suitable planet to inhabit since the earth is dying and there isn't much time. it's set way way wayyy in the future and everything was basically, yk, Technology and i had a really fun time imagining the spacecraft and how it will run and everything. i'm actually using a lot of physics and maths for this fic (ik, those 2 are like my weak points but hey, practise, right?). i did a lot of research on planets and stars and basically as much astronomy as i could handle and although it was confusing, it was really fun for me to also learn about space. sadly, i lost all the notes i took when we were moving /sobs/ so i have to redo my research and recalculate everything from the start:D
'skittles with legz' is basically like a collection of short stories but set in the same universe. the boys are power rangers in this book and it's basically telling the story about how they save the world i guess is the most compact way of saying it HAHA. it tells the story of how each person became a member, the chaos of being a power ranger, their hero moments and everything. it's a book i'm writing for fun and completely not serious since i wrote most half asleep so it's very very fun to write.
aaannnddd i may have hinted this (wait no HAHA I ACTUALLY SAID IT I THINK?? can't remember) but there is one that i'm still drafting/ i guess you can't consider it as a wip but in a way it is? anyways hihihi i'll publish it after i finish school and get everything set for uni basically. it's going to be my biggest story yet, i think and i'm really really excited for it! it's going to be a fun adventure-themed story, with a hint of romance, friendship in a royal(ish) setting. i can't say anything more though, but please look forward to it!
[02] WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO WRITE?
it would have to be my bed. i've done everything in my bed, really. planning, drafting, studying for exams, made tiktoks(?), done projects and it's really comfy too. i usually sit against the wall with a pillow on my back with like this mini table i have and place my laptop there but i get really distracted if i do that so i almost never lean on the wall and cross my legs and just work away i guess?
i have a second favourite place to write though. well, actually more like two second favourites. the first one is my dad's study. i don't know, it just feels like a place full of productivity and ideas just keep coming when i'm there (and maybe because i feel important being there HAHAHA). AND he has the nicest spinny chair in the whole house. second, i have this small balcony-like ledge in front of my window. like, it sticks out but there's not much space, just enough for 2 people to squeeze and sit face-to-face in. since my window is almost floor to ceiling, i can hop on to it and i'd usually sit out there and write because the wind is so nice!!
[03] WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE/LEAST FAVOURITE PART ABOUT WRITING?
i am a huge huge huge daydreamer and writing has been a really really good way for me to bring my world to life. it makes me forget about the things i've been stressed about and you know, instead i could instead stress over my characters making decisions and doing dumb things HAHAHAHA.
i get most of my story ideas from my dreams and i actually keep a dream journal on my phone. sometimes i get too hung up in the dream that i had the previous night that i just H A V E to write about it, you know? so i don't forget about it and i could read back on it to remember all the emotions i felt dreaming it. since i'm a lucid dreamer, i feel like it's a waste to let me forget about my dream stories after all i actually had great adventures there. all my fics on this so far (underwater, t4uc, stardust, moons of jupiter blablabla) are all based on dreams that i had. i love that i can be whoever i want in my stories, doing whatever i want and, you know, imagine being part of it.
my least favourite thing about writing is writer's block (i think this is every kind of writer's worst nightmare, honestly) and how some people don't understand how hard it is to overcome it, and how people belittle the work of authors no matter how good or bad the work is. because either way, it's still a form of art and it irritates me when people don't appreciate the hard work that goes into it.
[04] DO YOU HAVE WRITING HABITS/RITUALS?
does this count?? whenever i want to write, i keep it in my head until i get really obsessed with that plot/idea and once i've exploded with the itch to write, it keeps me going and going for hours on end. it's like a pressure build you know? i don't know how to explain it but i guess that's my writing habit. OH and alsoooo not rereading a sentence that i changed the wording of. it will end up completely making no sense. and my friends say i'm a spelling freak soO yeah i guess that's all?
[05] WHAT STORY OF YOURS DO YOU LIKE THE MOST?
uhhhh my favourite story that i've written is probably 'the fourth unforgivable curse'. i don't exactly know why, since the story ended with a sad ending. maybe because i love the potterverse too?? i have no clue but there's just something about that story i ABSOLUTELY adore. i think it's partly because of the fact that it was the first time i tried writing in a male's point of view and consistently throughout the whole story. there were very few bits where i wrote in the female lead's point of view and i don't know... it was refreshing i guess to try out. also, i had a lot of fun making up my own twist to it, "inventing" something new a.k.a the curse (which, obviously, isn't in the original wizarding world universe). i think i just like making things up in general HAHA.
a close second would be 'stardust'. even though it's set in a kind of normal 'coming-of-age'-ey 'slice-of-life' surroundings, i love the way it's very fantasy-like and whimsical because of all the 'star mark' concept. basically when i first thought (read: dreamt lmao) of what would become the story itself, i was looking through youtube and found this old song? compilation video? i don't really know what to classify it as but it goes 'we are stardust' or something like that. which is true, in a way, because we are made up of the original matters the universe if made up of and i thought huh, what if this happens because of this? and i kept on thinking about it so eventually, that's how the whole 'your soulmate is the person you share your star with' kind of thing came to be.
