Alright, it's time to relax and unwind.
I spent most of the day exploring the island, taking hikes with tour guides and going to the massage parlor for some destressing. Now, I think it's time for a little, me-time.
Going under my bed, I reached into my suitcase and pulled out one of my favorite books; 'Outlander'. I knew this trip was going to be lengthy, so I had to pack the essentials for a trip like this. Especially when dealing with a bunch of college students. I mean, I respect all my students, every single one of them. Still, some of them can be a real pain in the... well, you know.
Once I got my book, I walked over to the kitchen and walked over to the fridge. Opening it, I found a nice bottle of white wine with my name on it, waiting for me. Of course the Royal Diamond had given me a complementary wine bottle for winning the competition.
Yes, I am a professor at the end of the day, but still...
A little wine hurt nobody.
I grabbed the bottle and got a wine glass from the cupboard and placed them on the table. As I set them down, I felt a shiver run down my spine.
"Oh, it's freezing in here." I breathed warm air into my hands and rubbed them together. Walking over to my window, I closed it shut, but I still felt cold.
It has to be the thermostat.
Walking over to the dial, I checked the temperature and found it sitting at 60 degrees. Sorry, that's too cold for me.
I turned the dial up to 80 and grabbed my stuff from the table. Once I poured my wine, I laid down on my bed and began to read.
Of course that didn't last, because it was still cold in the room! Oh my god!
"What the hell?" I said angrily as I walked over the vent.
I put my hand under it and felt ice cold air touch me. Oh come on, what is this? This shouldn't be happening!
Okay, I'm calling someone!
I stalked over to the phone and dialed the number for the front desk. After a couple seconds...
"Hello, this the Royal Diamond front desk! This is Rebecca, how may I help you?"
"Hi, Ms. Rebecca, this is Professor Harrison. I'm saying in room 407 and I'm having some trouble with the heat."
"What seems to be the trouble, ma'am?"
"Well, I turned the thermostat up to increase the temperature in my room and it's still cold. Right now, it says 80 degrees, but it feels like it's 40 below in here."
"I'm so sorry to hear that, Ms. Harrison. I'll have one of our maintenance workers come by to fix your thermostat. If you have anymore issues, feel free to call us anytime."
"Okay, thank you."
"No problem, Ms. Harrison! Again, we are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and we hope you enjoy your stay at the Royal Diamond."
I hung up the phone and took a seat on my bed, waiting for the maintenance guy to show up. After about ten minutes, there was a knock at my door. Getting up, I answered the door and I was greeted by a man wearing gray coveralls and a gray hat. He was a much older gentleman, but still kinda cute. Is that a bad thing?
"Hi, I'm here for the thermostat problem." The maintenance guy said.
"Yes, right over here."
I moved back so he can come into my room. He grabbed his tool box and walked inside.
"So, it seems you're having a heating issue. Is that the main problem?"
