A LIFE THATS GOOD

Chapter 2

The first day back to school is always the most tiring day, because it’s the day that everyone tells everything about their holiday and its also the day that you get the most work and assignments. I was so happy when I heard the bell for break time and I wasn’t  the only one it’s the fastest that I’ve  seen people pack up their stuff and run out the door. While I walk out the class I can hear a few people talking about their partners for prom and what they think the theme is. Then I see Sam and as soon as she sees me she starts talking about her first few classes.

“There’s this boy in my class and he’s  super cute, I swear I’m going to ask him to prom. “she says with a sly smile.

“Wow you move fast I didn’t  even check who’s  in my class this semester, the teachers has been grinding us with homework and assignments. “I said with sarcasm.

“Cassie you need to stop doing that you go from hottie to nerd in just a few seconds. You’re  always acting like your unavailable, that’s  why you’ve  never had a boyfriend, it’s  because you have a massive sign telling people to stay away. “she said.

“Samantha you know how much dancing and school means to me, if I get good grades I get into a good school and dancing is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I don’t always have time to think about a boyfriend or parties. I also understand that you are trying to help and I will try my best to at least like a guy or having fun at parties. “ I said feeling a little embarrassed. The rest of the school day went by with nothing major happening. After school Sam and I walked home from school and decided to go to my house.

“ Cassie did you hear about the back to school party this weekend at one of the jocks houses.” She said with a big smile

“I heard about it, I was not planning on going. “ I said trying to make it sound as though its not a big deal, otherwise Sam is going to beg me to go with. Of course Sam didn’t leave it there all I heard the rest of the afternoon was about the party and who’s going. I zoomed out after a while and then something crossed my mind I completely forgot that my parents left for a two week business trip to New York.

Both my parents are lawyers so they have a lot of trips outside of town.

Being home alone is always fun until you get so bored out of your mind.

“Sam do you want to sleep over by me this week my parents are out of town?.” I asked

“I’ll ask my mom. “she said and quickly pulled her phone out and called her mom.

I was already thinking about ordering Chinese food for us and we can binge watch Gilmore girls.

“I’m sorry Cassie my mom said no to tonight but she said it will be fine from tomorrow, she just wants both her kids at home, but she did say I must ask if you wanted to spend the night by us?. “ she asked me with a huge smile on her face and of course I would say yes to that offer.

The next school  day went by so fast and good riddance because it was a terrible day for me. It was already a bad day since I woke up. It was mostly just me being jealous Sam and her family are like really close and they care for each other. Its not like my parents don’t care about me, of course they do. They were away most of the time while I was growing up and so I was basically raised by nannies. When I turned  fourteen I told my mom that I really didn’t need a nanny I can make my own food and I’m very responsible I’m not the party animal kind of girl. My parents and I are close but not tell them every detail of my life close. I needed to get my stuff from Sam’s house directly after school because I have a dance class later the afternoon and I won’t have time to come back to her house. When school was finished Sam walked with me and when we got to her house I quickly ran inside to fetch my bag of last night. My house is a few houses away from Sam’s so it takes me less than ten minutes to get to my house. When I get home I quickly eat something small and decide to get dressed for my dance class. While getting done I get a text from Sam.

Hey my mom wants to know if were going to have dinner here before we head to your house~ Sam

I quickly shoot her a text back before she can even send another one.

Hey I have a dance class and by the time its finished its 4 pm and then I’m going to the gym after that so tell her I say thank you for the offer but I don’t want to come around so late ~Cassie

It was as if she read my mind because her next text arrived in less than a second

I knew you were going to give me some kind of excuse the dance class is fine but don’t you think the gym is a bit much? ~ Sam

I’ll just go for a run afterwards then I’ll let you know when I am home then you can come over~ Cassie

I realized that I still had two hours before my dance class so I decide that I’m going to go for a swim. I quickly change into my bikini and head down stairs. Our swimming pool is at the back of the house so I decide to lock the front door. I spent about an hour in the pool doing laps. When I jump out I have just about enough time for a shower and then I have to leave. The shower cooled me down even further so when I finished I got dressed in my dance clothes its just a pair of Nike leggings and a sports bra and a Nike jacket and some Nike shoes. I got ready and then headed down stairs for a bottle of water and a gym towel and then I was out the house. I was scared I was running late so I took a quick jog to class its not like its really that far its probably 15 minutes from my house. I arrive early by class and I start warming up immediately. I have been dancing my entire life since I was 4 years old I can do any dance any style or any move. Some of the kids here have only been doing its for a year or two and if they struggle I help them out.

When class finishes I go for my run as intended , the run actually helped to put me in a good mood and a calm space , so I stopped running. If I had continued I would have not stopped, I enjoy running and exercising a lot. After I got home I quickly sent Sam a text to let her know that I am back home and that she can come over when she’s ready. While waiting for Sam to come over I quickly jump into the shower and then I start making something for supper I decided on bacon and cheese wrapped into chicken breasts and then I crumb the breasts and fry them. While waiting for the mushroom sauce to warm up  Sam arrived.

“Cass you want to go shopping tomorrow, buy something cute for the party. “she asked knowing I can’t say no.

“you really aren’t  going to let me stay at home are you? “ I asked keeping a poker face.

“You know me better than anyone else, what do you think? “she asked with a smile

“fine we can go shopping tomorrow but we are going to need to get our nails done as well so we can do that tomorrow too”  I said trying to sound excited
