A LIFE THATS GOOD

Chapter 9

The ride to the restaurant Chase didn't say anything so i also kept quiet it wasn't untill we stopped in the restaurant parking lot that he finally spoke.
"so you're dating now?" he asked with a smile that could blind anybody.
"i wouldn't call it dating i barely know the guy, but he's nice." i said sweetly.
"well he must be out of school, because i don't think any highschool kid can afford this place" he said quizzically.
"yeah he's out of highschool" i said looking a little shy.
"enjoy the date then let me know if i must pick you up" he said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"thanks for bringing me Chase" i muttered. I didn't know why but i don't feel like this date anymore, but it would be so rude to cancel so i climbed out of the car and went into the restaurant. When i walked into the restaurant the layout was big and the walls were painted grey with all these retro pictures hanging from elvis presley to Marilyn Monroe it looked amazing the tables and chairs where leather with little candles on all the tables. After gawking a little i caught a hand trying to get my attention, it was Zack and he looked so handsome he had a pair of kakis on with a light grey dress shirt and it made his green eyes stand out even more. He was cleanly shaved and you could actually see his jaw line. I walked closer to the table and greeted him with a hug.
"hi Zack how are you?" i asked with a huge smile.
"im great and you?" he asked with a grin.
"im good thanks" i replied keeping my smile massive. After sitting down and looking over the menu i decided to have a sparkling water with lime. Zack chose to have a beer. After the waiter brought us our drinks he took our foos order i ordered a alfredo pasta and Zack ordered a steak.After a while of small talk the waiter brought our food and we started to eat immediately the food was so good i couldn't help myself by making strange noises.
"mmmm this is so good" i said with a smile.
"i can see you're enjoying it with all those moaning noises you're making" he said with a grin.
"im sorry" i said feeling the blush kreep up my neck and then it hit my cheeks. We continued eating in silence, when we were done with our food he ordered us a chocolate mouse pie to share.
"i don't eat much sweet stuff but this pie is amazing" i said sounding shocked.
"i know right this place nails it" he said.we finished the pie and i was so full i felt like throwing up.
"Cas im not sure how you arrived, but would you like me to take you home?"he asked. I wasn't sure i wanted him to take me home because of trust issues i have so i politely declined." Chase brought me and he said he would pick me up again so im good for a ride thank you for offering. "i said smiling. I could see there was disappointment in his eyes, but i couldn't feel bad for him. I quickly sent a text to Chase to tell him he can come pick me up. Not even a minute later i got a reply.
On my way Cas.  I knew he would be here in like 15 min so i told Zack he can go but he refused.
"Cassie im waiting with you untill you're in Chase's car" he said with a smile.
"okay" i said not arguing back. There was a bench right outside the restaurant so we sat there and talked for a little bit untill i saw Chase's car. I had completely forgot that Zack is Chase's best friend and didn't know how well Chase was going to take this. Zack opened up the door for me to move in and greeted Chase, before i caould slip into the car Zack planted a kiss in my lips and i froze for a while, but kissed him back he's lips were soft and the kiss was rough and filled with passion from his end. The kiss i gave back was a little awkward and ge could feel that so he pulled away. I gave him a hug and thanked in for dinner and climbed into the car. The boys said their goodbyes and we were on our way. I could see Chase was a bit upset because he kept on clenching his staring wheel making fists.
"i wasn't fine with you going on a date tonight, but now finding out you were on a date with Zack i feel like punching him in the face." he said and i could see the fire of anger in his eyes.
"im sorry i didn't tell you earlier i figured you wouldn't want your sister's best friend going out with your best friend, that's why i didn't say anything" i said looking down. I couldn't look him in his eyes it hurt too much. I felt the car come to a stop and looked up to see how come we've stopped. We were in a parking lot facing to the beach.
"what are you doing? Why did you stop?" i asked confused.
"i stopped because i want to talk to you" he said looking a little less angry.
"okay let's talk" i said in agreement.
"if you think im upset, because you're my sisters best friend and you went out with my friend you really have been living under a rock" he said smugly.
"I don't know what you mean, but what i do know is that i don't need any insults from you" i said with courage.
"god Cassie im inlove with you and you don't even see it, that's why iam upset you went out with Zack" he said and i could hear the hesitation in his voice. He didn't mean for that to come out and looked a little shy now.
"Chase im sorry i didn't realize." i answer a little ashamed. "its okay i do have one question for you though" he said not giving me a chance to answer back "do you like me?" he asked and i can see the uncertainty in his eyes.
"Chase it wouldn't matter what my answer is we can't be together" i said sounding a little sadder than what i thought i would. Chase didn't answer back he just started the truck and drove. It felt like hours before he spoke again "im sorry for kissing you" he said and i can see a little sadness in his eyes. "its okay Chase it's not like i didn't want to kiss you back" i said.
We drove in silence untill we got to my house. "are you still staying over or do want to go home" i asked looking hopeful that he would stay over. "I'll stay" he said with some glimmer in his eye.
