Maybe we are similar

Shadow was wondering why Amy would want him to stay,he thought that Amy would be the last person that she wanted to spend time with.Though she didn't want to trouble her,he couldn't just leave her by herself because she was already upset about what happened between her and Sonic and didn't want to see her being upset he wanted her to be happy.
There Shadow was quietly staring at Amy while she was looking back and tears was still coming out her eyes begging him to stay with her.

"Okay,I'll stay with you for tonight".

"Thank you Shadow!" Amy tried to happily run off and managed to give Shadow a hug,he never felt such a kind gesture from anyone not even Maria.

"Okay,so I guess I'll sleeping on the couch for tonight".

"No! Wait Shadow could y-you cuddle me again?".

"..."
"I liked it when you cuddled me and held me,I never felt more safer in your arms before".

Shadow pretty much had no option as this point.Amy took him into her bedroom and sat down on her started to cuddle her while putting a blanket around both of them.Amy began to start smiling again but still,she couldn't talk very much since she collapsed it's like her voice was taken away from her or maybe she used up all her strength while trying to convince Shadow to stay with her.Amy was  thinking in her head "why is he being so nice to me? He has never treated me this kind to me or anyone in fact before? I guess he does show some care and love for others too apart from drifting away from the ones who care about him"

"Shadow..I know you follow me when I come home at sundown"

"W-what? How do you know,did that faker tell you?!"

"No silly I can just sense your presence it's like your watching over me just making sure I'm okay is that what it is?"

Shadow didn't want to admit it but she was right.Every time Amy was walking home in the dark,he followed her but without her knowing because it would be technically classified as "stalking" but Amy didn't see it in that way at all,she thought more of his way of keeping her out of danger and securing her safety.

"Amy,I know you have had your past experiences with danger and getting hurt by the people you love but I promise you this,I'll protect you from any danger even if it's me."

"Shadow it's okay,I'll be fine it's n-not like I've been hurt before"

"I know how you feel Amy,all I do is drive people away but I try to ignore because the truth I don't care for anyone apart from you because you are the only one who has treated with kindness"

"I guess we are similar Shadow"

"Yeah,I guess we are Rose"

"Please Shadow you can just call me Amy"

"Okay Amy"

By that point,Amy had fallen asleep and Shadow started to fall asleep since they did both had a tough day.
