(Y/N)'s POV
The old man was kind enough to slow the airship down until my fever died down. The examiners from the cooking phase also visited and gave me some soup as a thank you for making them those ribs.I felt a little better after about five hours. The next morning we've arrived at a tall building. It was called Trick Tower. They've explained that we have a lot of time to complete the tower. I was following Hisoka until I the floor below me sank.
I started falling and caught myself by jumping low from the walls. I landed gracefully on the floor and began to look around. A loud speaker appeared from the top saying that I had to wait for one person to arrive before I could start.
After about a few minutes in, a person already dropped down. It was that white haired kid. Killua, I think. "Oh, it's just you. Uh..(Y/N), right?" I nodded my and tossed him the other wristband.
The door in front of us opened up to reveal a dark room up ahead. We both walked inside to see nothing but darkness. Bright torches of light filled the abyss as another door opened revealing a man pushing a kart.
"Welcome to your first challenge of Trick Tower. All you have to do is answer any question we throw at you, and you have to swear to answer it truthfully. If you don't, you will earn a punishment."
The man explained as Killua scoffed with a smirk. "How can you tell if we're being honest or not?" The man then pointed towards the wristbands on our wrists, explaining that the wristbands are developed to tell if you're lying.
"Now, first question to start us off. What is your favorite color?" Killua laughed on how boring this question is, and that his favorite color was blue. I pointed at my kimono showing the man what I meant.
(Comment down your favorite color. Mine is midnight purple:) "(f/c).? Alright. You both answered truthfully. Next question: what are you most afraid of?" I tensed up as soon as the question had been spoken.
'The Hunter exam is about overcoming life threatening challenges, even if it involves a truth game. This means that they're also challenging us by trying to get under our skin by asking us personal questions.'
"I guess..I'm afraid of sticking to a plan that has already been figured out for me. What about you? What's your worst fear?" Killua smirked as his blood lust grew in my direction. My eyes grew anxious as I felt something off.
'Killua answered that question with ease, but he thinks he can make talk by putting the spotlight on me.' I smirked under my mask and held up hands. Words of Nen started to show as I knew the man would know right away.
You know why? Because Killua showed off different aura when I first met him. That shows that he knows nothing about Nen. And I knew that every examiner picked for this exam has the knowledge to know what Nen is.
"Too bad.. One of you answered the question wrong. You know who you are, but we won't stop until the truth has been told." The man presses a button sending out a large shock to our wristbands.
Killua stood there not fazed by the electricity. I winced in pain as the electricity started getting into my skin. 'What! What is this!' I fell to the ground as Killua smirked at me from above. 'He must be immune to the shock. Which means he lied on purpose.'
I breathed heavily as I felt the shock running through my veins. I started to growl in pain and anger as my saliva started running down my chin. "You have thirty seconds left to answer truthfully."
Killua rolled his as I could tell he was enjoying my suffering. I glared up at him as my pupils grew smaller. I was ready to pounce on him for that. 'Calm down.. Relax.. Don't show anyone.. Don't hurt anyone..'
I breathed slowly as I stood back up. The shocks began to die down. 'I see..so the shocks get more painful based on our heart rate. I'll be ready next time.' "According to the situation that has happened, the two of you will be held in a room for 10 hours before continuing."
Killua and I both huffed in a unison as we both walked through the door to a room with couches, a kitchen, a connected bathroom, and a television. Before we walked any further, I yanked Killua by his collar and pulled him back.
"What's your problem?" I gave him a stern look for what he did. "Oh! Sorry, I guess that I got out of hand." Killua smiled like what he did back there was no big deal, but it was. "You don't have to get all grumpy."
Killua shrugged his shoulders and walked further into the room. 'You've asked for it.' I went over to Killua and slapped him so hard that he flew into the wall. "Whoa! Alright! I get it! I'm sorry. Jeez.."
I huffed and sat down on the other side of the room. "Never thought someone as quiet as you could be so sensitive, yet strong." Killua walked over to me and sat down in the seat next to me. "So, are you really mute like Gon said you were?"
I shook my head and turned the other way. "Huh.? So, you can speak, but you choose not to, because of the mask you have on, is that it?" I nodded as Killua continued to ask me questions and then started a conversation.
I continued to answer his questions for about two hours. Killua would always have a different reaction to each question I answered. He would be amazed, or say things like that's awesome. I slowly started to grow on him over time we've been stuck in the room together.
He even told me everything about his life. How his whole family were elite assassins. It almost made me think of Illumi. Killua even mentioned how he didn't want to be an assassin anymore.
Honestly, I can relate to that.. I mean, who wants their family to plan their whole future? Killua accidentally slipped on how happy he was to meet Gon. I giggled at his blushing form as we moved on.
About eight hours of talking, eating, and sleeping. The door finally opened to reveal the man from the first room. I looked confused until the man explained everything. In the end, it kinda made sense..
"Putting you in that room was part of the Truth Test." Killua and I both looked at each other in confusion, and then glared back at the man for locking us in there. "Uh..anyway.. The examiner thought it'd be a splendid idea to trap the two of you in there to teach you a lesson."
I raised an eyebrow as I was slowly starting to understand. "So, locking us in that room was suppose to teach us something more important?" Killua asked as the man nodded. "Why didn't you say anything before?!"
Killua yelled out in a childish rage and attempted to hit the man, but I stopped him from doing so. "(Y/N)! Don't protect him! Didn't you see what he did to us!" I nodded my head and motioned for the man to proceed.
"This was a lesson for you to remember, that the Hunter exam isn't just about earning a license. It is also about having to overcome challenges and meeting new friends to help you along the way. Good luck to both of you."
Killua and I smiled at each other before the door in front of us opened to reveal that we've reached the end. "Killua, applicant number #99, and (Y/N), applicant number #43 had finished in fourth place, simultaneously."
The loud speaker announced as we walled through the door. "Fourth place. Not bad for two kids." Killua smiled as we shared a high five. (Virtual high fives for all you! UwU) "(Y/N)-chan! Over here, sweetie~"
Hisoka called me over, holding a tray of food for me. I ran over and sat next to him. I offered Killua some as we shared together. "Y-you're friends with him.?" Killua whispered in my ear as he glared at Hisoka.
I nodded and smiled. "You're really weird, you know that, (Y/N)?" I smiled and ruffled his hair as he blushed at my actions. 'He's like a little brother:)'
