                                                           Hayden POV

It was morning, and I stayed in my room, I watched as the kids walked and played outside they invited me to breakfast but I decided not to leave the room,

The nightmares I had last night of the experiments, the scientist looming over my weak body, the excruciating pain, it all had me on edge,

And the last thing I want to do is shift, breaking every bone in my body,

Witness the sheer horror on everyone's face,

I would rather stay locked in the room and not take the risk, I feel my eyes glow, and I have to close my eyes, trying to keep the animal inside me at bay, it's exhausting,

I sat at the window sill watching everything happening outside,

Then there was a knock on the door,

"Hayden it's Jean, if you want I'll leave you breakfast at your door," She said

I squeezed my eyes shut, I'm having such a hard time, the animal slowly clawing it's way to the surface,

I listen and her footsteps get further and further away,

                                    Logan POV

We were all sitting eating breakfast, a bunch of kids laughing joking around, after a while I notice Hayden didn't come down,

She didn't eat dinner last night either, Jean walks in, and looks at Charles

She shakes her head,

"What?" I asked

"Hayden she's proving to be a challenge," He said

"Yeah, kid is hard headed," Scott said

"And what would you know about that?" I said

He just shrugged,

"There is something else," Jean said

"It's like she's barely hanging on, like something in her mind is almost about to take over," She said

I looked at her confused,

"That is interesting," Charles said

I left to go see how she's doing, a plate of food at her door untouched,

I knocked on the door,

"Kid you there?" I said

No answer,

"Kid?" I said opening the door,

She was gone, the window open as the curtains flutter in the breeze

"Damn it!" I said rushing out,

                                              Hayden POV

I needed to leave, I felt the animal coming close, I didn't want to transform here, I thought as I jumped out the window and made a B line for the woods,
