"I don't know whether I should thank you or hex you." Lyra groaned.
She looked at Sirius in frustration. Her friend had stood up for her when Lucius made her feel uncomfortable, but she wanted to show everyone that she could very well stand up for herself. Then, she remembered what Sirius had said. He had applied for the Association as well.
She gave him a puzzled look.
Sirius did not know what to say. He grinned sheepily and took his hands through his hair. He had joined the Association. Everything he was against.
Lyra looked at Sirius taking his hands through his thick black hair. She got distracted by his actions and felt a blush creep onto her cheeks. She shook her head to clear her thoughts.
"You're a jerk," Lyra replied with a small smile gracing her lips. She punched his shoulder.
"Ouch!" He bellowed. "You hurt my feelings."
Sirius stuck out his tongue. He loved how frustrated the tiny witch had become.
"Maybe your mother will finally be proud of you." Lyra shot at him in mock anger.
Sirius gasped exasperatedly, pretending to be hurt.
Lyra sighed. "I guess the parties will be a lot less boring with you there."
The two friends quickly made up and were back to being friendly with each other again. When Lyra was about to exit the store, the store-owner came running up to her.
"Ms Rosier, I have found some dresses that might interest you!" The flushed woman was carrying multiple dresses in her arms, struggling to walk in a straight line.
Lyra looked at Sirius, who nodded. They walked to one of the private dressing rooms. The dresses had been hung on a rack and Lyra could finally take a look at them. There was an array of colours, going from black to green and from burgundy to navy.
Sirius had taken a seat and had miraculously gotten himself a cup of tea already.
Lyra had taken the black dress off of the hanger and had taken it behind a screen where she could dress herself. She had felt the material and hesitated. It was made from silk, the same material as Isla's dress. She did not want to wear a dress that was too similar to hers. There was, however, no slit in it. The dress came up to her mid-thigh and had spaghetti straps for over her shoulder.
She quickly slipped out of her clothes and slipped into the dress. She zipped herself up and brushed her hair over her shoulders.
Lyra stepped into the room and Sirius nearly choked on his tea. He quickly put his cup down and started coughing profusely. The dress fit her really well. It clung to her like a second skin and showed off all of Lyra's curves. Sirius leaned forward and rested his arms on his legs. He did notice how far Lyra's collarbones were sticking out. He decided not to mention it.
"You don't like it?" Lyra asked timidly.
"Doll, don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous." Sirius shifted restlessly. "I don't think it is your style though."
"What, you mean revealing?" Lyra teased. "I'm sure Lucius would love this dress."
"That pig-brain is exactly one of the reasons I think we should look at the other dresses." Sirius huffed. "I'm afraid he is going to objectify you.
Lyra became very self-conscious and quickly walked behind the screen again.
"I'm sorry, Love." Sirius cringed. "I did not mean for it to come out like that."
Sirius mentally facepalmed and knew he had messed up. Lyra was self-conscious about her body, which in Sirius'opinion, did not make sense at all. Lyra looked ravishing.
