Fizzling Out

(A/N: I want to clarify that this part of the story is in no way meant to seem like glorifying mental illness. I want to make it more obvious that the character I'm writing is struggling. I also want to say that if you are going through something please reach out to someone.)

Y/N was worried. Sure, he managed to beat Todoroki but it was still a close call. He knew he was on thin ice because of the flood and he always felt like a threat to all of the new friends he had made. Getting outed certainly worked as a breaking point. Y/N looked up at the ceiling of his bare room. He'd always been hard on himself; don't eat too much, always make time for others, ignore your needs, and most importantly, don't feel too much. Now that he had messed up, he was holding himself to those rules even harder. Y/N lied on his bed, trying not to cry any harder. It was 12 a.m. at the time, all the students were at home.

The first panic attack Y/N remembers was after when he first woke up. He tried to remember everything, he was so young at the time, not ready for the emotional backlash it had. Y/N tried to remember, only being met with the fact that he really had forgotten everything and it would take a while to get anything back. Why did his mother never want him to see her? If she cared enough to pay for hospital bills, why not at least meet him? Questions swirled around his head, the sky outside seemed to darken as he wanted to scream but couldn't. Tears staining his cheeks and air seeming to avoid him scared him more as he cried harder. He didn't know what he wanted, he didn't know what he was missing. All he knew was that he was tired and light headed. He was alone now, crying. Remembering the hospital. While everyone got to go home, Y/N was still trying to figure out where his home was.

(Time skip)

It was time for school, as Y/N adjusted his tie and ran down to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face. He hadn't gotten any sleep and was tired from the events before. Much to Iida's dismay, Y/N managed to make it to class before he did. Lying his head on his desk and closing his eyes to rest as the class filed in, Y/N listened to the chatter around him. He heard Todoroki sit next to him almost silently as Uraraka sat on his other side still half chatting to Mina. That was Y/N's cue to look up and pretend to be awake. As soon as he looked up, Bakugou stared, analyzing everything about the tired boy. He was already worried from his reluctancy to sit up straight in the beginning of class but seeing the growing eyeballs under Y/N's eyes only worried him more.  Mina jumped over to Y/N "Did you bump into the reporters this morning? They were even more clingy than before!" She said excitedly. Y/N wrote tiredly, I did, didn't they stay overnight?  He would be lying if he said they weren't annoying him a little bit. "Apparently, they even stopped the students as well! I wish I was interviewed.. I could've been on TV!" Mina gushed.

As Aizawa walked into the classroom, Y/N felt himself start to fall asleep. The only things he could make out were "mumble mumble, mumble mumble, class rep, mumble mu-" Which was cut off by excited talk from the class. A class rep, this was probably the first normal school thing they had been doing all year. Of course Y/N didn't know that. This was the only school experience he had. Suddenly, a loud commotion took place as every student shot up and asked for a chance to be the rep. Y/N, on the other hand was just trying to wake up a little bit more. Without thinking, he took a bit of water out of his water bottle and splashed it on his face. Shaking his head really fast to dry off, he woke up a bit more. It was a strange strand of actions but it worked.

To be honest, the only person Y/N could see as a fit class rep was Iida. He was smart and kind of already acted like a hall monitor. He was the type of person who would go to the mall to just buy the things he needed, Y/N being much more of an arcade-then-forget-what-you-needed-in-the-first-place kinda guy. But he was responsible. Always making sure the class was in line. He had helped Y/N a lot by telling the class to stop bombarding him. So it was pretty safe to say he already had Y/N's vote.
