The Cavalry Battle

(A/N: my cat is on my lap rn omg)

          Each class huddled after the obstacle course, still tired. Y/N was stood next to Bakugou, leaning on him slightly and trying to stay energized after his win. They were watching Ms. Midnight make a speech about the next game before the graphics on the big screen behind her started moving. The gambling-type spinner stopped at 'CAVALRY BATTLE'. "Those at the top will suffer more," Midnight said, "You'll hear this many times as you attend U.A., This is what 'Plus Ultra' means!" Oh no. Y/N thought. "Y/N, who placed first in the qualifier, is worth ten million points!" She declared. Shit. Almost immediately, Y/N felt all eyes on him. His quirk wouldn't be too helpful in this fight, it was short distance and there would be people in close proximity of him. Y/N sighed, this was probably where he'd get out if it weren't for Bakugou noticing his dismay. 

            After Midnight finished explaining the rules, Bakugou leaned towards Y/N saying, "Lets team up." On paper it wasn't a very good idea, the two with the most points teaming up together, but if they managed to stay safe, they'd be able to keep them. They were of the highest value for a reason after all. Considering all of this, Y/N smiled determinately and nodded his head. A while away, Todoroki was watching this all unfold and after pausing to think, he walked up to the two and wordlessly joined their team. Suddenly, the tables had turned and everyone was flocking around Y/N and his team. "Wait," Bakugou said, "What're all of your names and quirks again?" Y/N laughed, hiding his face in Bakugou's shoulder, a habit he'd formed after someone made fun of his smile back at the hospital. (although he has a very cute smile so frick that guy) 

           After a little bit, Y/N's team was formed. It was definitely a little too powerful. Bakugou was on top, having the quirk best for attacking, Todoroki and Y/N were on the sides, Todoroki being able to protect both of them from Bakugou's explosions with ice blockers, and Kirishima in front, since he's practically invincible. A lot of people's eyes were on the overpowered team, it's all about who dared to go near them. Hoisting Bakugou up, the team got ready, starting to talk about strategy. "Three," Present Mic started, "Two," Bakugou and Y/N shared glances, "One," The team looked ahead at all of the others staring them down, "Start!" Almost immediately, everyone started running at Bakugou who was wearing the headband representing their points. 

          The first people running at them were a bunch of students from 1-B. Todoroki glazed the floor in ice, causing them to fall as Y/N took their headband. "I almost feel bad for taking their points like this..." Kirishima said, putting his hands together in apology at the team on the floor. It was a lot of running and sliding around from the team, Bakugou having to dodge in defense and explode people in offense, Y/N was getting pretty carried from the team but he had quick reflexes and the most amount of points. At one point, Bakugou's headband was stolen by Monoma and his team but Todoroki got it back by creating an ice wall while Y/N swung by and stole it with an internal 'yoink '.

               The team was running from a couple of 'extras' from 1-B, they were getting pretty close and Todoroki was still working on defending everyone from other groups. As soon as the teams were closing in, Present Mic yelled "Time's Up!" and the entirety of Y/N's team collapsed on each other, completely exhausted while the crowd roared once more. It was strange to see Todoroki and Bakugou allowing themselves to be crushed but everyone was too tired to care, it was hard work running while carrying a 180 lb guy on your shoulders. 

              "In first place, Team Bakugou!" Todoroki rolled off of the pile of people, Y/N following soon after, while the crowd cheered. The team slowly got up to celebrate their victory while Present Mic continued to shout out each team's placement. After a small celebration of high-fives, (some forced *cough cough* Bakugou *cough cough*) everyone went into the back rooms to train and get ready for 1v1 fights.
