Chapter 10 - James or Matt

Patiance POV

We get into the hall when Matt turns me around 

"Are you alright" he asks worried, oh he is sweet.

"No it's just something that James said, don't worry about it" I reply sighing he nods

"So that kiss was just a spare of the moment thing then" he says more to himself, oh crap I don't want him to feel bad

"No I wanted to kiss you all day but I have been scared. I don't know why but I really like you and we haven't even had a date or know each other that well" I say shocking him, before I could say anything else he leans forward and kisses me I don't react at first but I kiss him back. I feel the sparks running through my body he is asking for entrance and I give in this is magical, then all I see is him falling to the ground and look up to see James.

"What the hell" I yell looking at Matt and see a huge bruise on his face where I am guessing James punched him, what is wrong with him? I help Matt up and he stands beside me

"What are you doing" James asks, what does he mean it's pretty obvious

"Kissing my boyfriend" I say impulsively, did I seriously just say that

"Your boyfriend you don't have a boyfriend" he says angrily even though it's true what is his problem before I can ask Matt jump in

"Yes she does and this is none of your business what my girlfriend and I do" he says warningly not mean like just like back off, but protectively and pulling me behind him, I could get use to this.

"I wasn't talking to you and she isn't your girlfriend" he retorts, wow he is freaking me out

"Look James I have no idea what is wrong with you, so please calm down and Matt is my boyfriend and you can't change that" I say gently, he looks mad and steps forward and punches Matt straight in the jaw again

"James stop hitting him or you will need to find a new best friend" I say sternly eyeing him while kneeling next to Matt

"You would chose that low life instead of me" he asks furious

"I am not nor want to chose but if you don't stop hurting him then we can't be friends" I say sadly

"You bastard" James say charging at him again but I quickly got up and levitated and kicked him and came back down.

"James go" I say sternly and he looks between Matt and I and glares at Matt and walks off. I look around and see a lot of people gathered around and I look at Matt and finally realise I have lost my best friend and I don’t know why. I feel a tear run down my cheek so I run more tears flowing down my face and I hear Matt calling my name but I don't stop until  I enter the library and sit in a far corner. I choose the library because it's deserted and I have always loved the library for some reason.

"Patti" I hear someone say, I look up to see Paige standing there she quickly comes over and gives me a big hug and I cry on her shoulder and tell her what happened and she looks shocked.

"I still can't believe it" I say in disbelief

"Me neither you got a boyfriend" she says jokingly and I look at her and she laughs and I laugh to until I feel another presence and look up to see Matt standing there and obviously Paige noticed too.

"I leave you two alone and I talk to later" she says before hugging me then leaving, I look up again to see Matt coming closer and sitting beside me not saying a word

"I'm sorry" I say putting my head in my hands

"No you have no reason to be sorry, I am sorry that you lost your best friend because of me" he tells me, I look up to see him looking ahead with guilt

"Matt you have nothing to be sorry for James punched you and I have no idea why" I say truthfully while sighing

"Maybe he has feelings for you" he tells me I shake my head

"No I know he doesn't his feelings aren't of love but of something I can't decipher which scares me" I say worried. What if something happened to him or he's if going through a mental break down.

"I know he's your best friend and I wish I could help you two but I would just like to officially ask will you be my girlfriend" he asks sounding nervous, I look up at him to see him staring into my eyes and I nod

"Yes" I say and kiss him it's soft and sweet

"Look what we have here" someone says interrupting us, I look up and see the one person who I truly hate Juliette Thomas

"What do you want" I say not really caring

"Oh nothing just wanted to see if the school slut has got a new boyfriend" she says smirking, I can not let her win

"Oh and have you" I say smugly and her smirk turns into snare

"This is not the end and I will make sure your little nymph friend gets it" she says slyly

"You leave her alone, this is between you and me leave her out of this or else I will tell everyone what you did" I say using her secret to my advantage. We were friends until last year where she betrayed my friendship

She storms off and I turned to see Matt stunned

"What" I ask shrugging

"Nothing, but I have to go I joined the school magic team and practise is in 10  minutes" he tells me guiltily

"Don't worry I have cheerleading practise to do" I say smiling

"Ok I'll walk with you" he says helping me off the floor and doesn't let go off my hand we walk down the hall hand in hand until we get to the gym where I have to practise

"I'll come pick you up once I'm done ok and we can have dinner or do something together" he tells me I nod and lean in to kiss him and he does the same and it turns into a heated make out session until we hear someone clear their throat. We pull apart to see Cinnafinnick and Ivory standing there smirking

"Haven't even known each other for very long and you guys are already about to go to a room" Ivory says smugly, I blush and lean into Matt and hug him goodbye, he leaves and I enter the gym with the girls well this should be fun.
