Chapter 15 - The Cutest Couple

Pippa POV

Lin and I walk hand in hand back into the living room, where Jazzy, Renée, and Anthony were sitting on the couch talking. Renée is the first to see us, and she looks up.

"Is everything ok now?" Renée asks as we come to sit down by her. I gently place my purse down next to the coffee table before sitting down next to Lin.

"Yep!" I hold Lin's left hand in my lap, and he wraps his right arm around my shoulders. I look up at him and try to hide the laughter, but I can't.

"Pippa, why are you laughing? You were crying two minutes ago," Lin laughs too, although, I don't even know what I'm laughing at.

"I don't know," I get up, pulling Lin up with me. I put a hand on his chest, and the other still holds his hand. "I want to dance."

"Ok," Lin gives me a smirk. "I can show you my moves."

"Oh my god, Lin," Renée facepalms, and we all laugh.

"Not those moves, Renée," Lin places a hand on my waist, which makes me blush a bit. Why does that happen every time?

Lin takes notice of this and says with a smile, "You do that every time, don't you?"

I nod, slightly embarrassed. Jazzy, Renée, and Anthony share the same confused look.

"She blushes every time I put my hand on her waist. I think it's pretty cute," Lin explains. All three of them 'awww'.

Lin mouths something to Anthony, who pulls out his phone and starts typing something. Suddenly, 'Helpless' starts playing, but it's where Lin starts to sing.

He lets go of me, looking around the room, and I stare into his eyes.

"Pippa, I don't have a dollar to my name, an acre of land, a troop to command, a dollop of fame," He starts, smiling a little here and there. I try to keep my face as serious as possible as I would in the show, but I slip a smile or two. Renée, Jazzy, and Anthony are sitting on the couch, smiling at us.

"Jazzy confides in me, Renée tried to take a bite of me," Lin continues. I turn away from Lin like I normally do when he says, 'Angelica tried to take a bite of me', and I smile at Renée, who returns it happily. Lin grabs my hands, which brings my attention back to him, singing, "No stress, my love for you is never in doubt. We'll get a little place in Harlem and we'll figure it out."

Lin continues to sing, but when he gets to "As long as I'm alive, Eliza, swear to God you'll never feel so," he sings it with a deeper voice, which makes me start laughing very hard as he spins me around. 

While Lin is still spinning me, he brings me closer to him, enveloping me in a hug. Anthony stops the music, and everyone is laughing. I hug Lin tightly. Lin pulls away slightly, but then he leans his head down to kiss me. He puts a hand on the small of my back, which sends a chill up my spine.

When we finally break away from each other, we are both grinning from ear to ear. I touch the tip of my nose to Lin's, just about to kiss him again when I hear Jazzy say playfully, "Cut it out, lovebirds." Her famous line.

I laugh. I'm about to say something, but Lin says something first. "Maybe we are lovebirds." He's right, maybe we are more than friends. It goes silent, and I catch Anthony giving Lin a nod and smile.

"Pips, I have a question for you," Lin asks. He looks nervous, but for what reason?

"What is it?" I glance at Jazzy and Renée, seeing if they have any idea what the question might be. They both shrug, and I turn back to Lin.

He takes a deep breath before saying, "Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

My mouth opens in shock. "What do you think?"

Lin gives me a nervous look. "I don't know."

"Yes! The answer is yes!" I smile. Lin lets out a sigh of relief and takes something out of his pocket.

"Good, I got this for you, too," He opens the small box, revealing a gold ring with a little heart on it. "It's a promise ring. I hope you like it."

"Like it? Lin, oh my god, I love it! It's beautiful!" I take the ring out of the box, sliding it on the finger where my engagement ring used to be.

I give Lin another kiss, and he deepens it, picking me up. I wrap my legs around him and hug my arms loosely around his neck.

"You guys are so cute together," Renée says. I break the kiss and blush a deep red. I was only focused on me and Lin, that I had completely forgotten that we were with them.

"Sorry," I say, trying to get off of Lin. He puts me down and hugs me.

"Do you guys want to stay for a bit? We can watch a game or something on tv," Anthony suggests.

We all nod, and Lin and I sit down on the couch. Anthony turns on the tv, channel surfing to find a football game. Once he finds one, we all watch it together. We talk and laugh for hours.

Renée had left about an hour ago because she had to be home for her family. Jazzy, Anthony, Lin, and I were just about to start watching another football game, when I yawn.

Lin turns to me and asks, "You look tired. Wanna head home?"

I nod. I get up slowly from the couch and walk over to Jazzy to give her a hug. "I'll see you tomorrow in the afternoon for the show, right Pips?"

"Yep! I'll be there." We break away so that I can give Anthony a hug and Lin can give Jazzy a hug, too. Once we finish saying our goodbyes, I grab my purse from beside the couch, and we head out the door.
