Chapter 25 - The Big Announcement

Pippa POV

1:43 PM

I'm laying in my hospital bed with Lin sitting in a chair to my right, playing with Sebastian in his lap. I had just hung up with my mom, who, after finding out I was in the hospital, is coming to New York.

"She's coming?" Lin asks curiously, placing Sebby on the ground. Sebastian wanders over to the window and stands on his tip-toes, trying to look out at the soft, white snowflakes falling delicately from the sky. Lin comes over to me and sits on the bed.

"Unfortunately, yes," I reply, massaging my temples gently with my fingers. "She'll probably be here around 8 tonight."

Lin sighs, leaning in to give me a delicate kiss on my cheek. His soft lips move to my forehead and neck, until they reach my lips. Lin attempts a passionate kiss, which for a moment, I let him, until I remember that Sebastian was in the room, and I lightly push him away. He raises his eyebrows in question, and I nod my head towards Sebby, who was still happily staring out of the window, which had little drawings on it from the cold frost being wiped away.

Lin and I share giggles and Sebby turns around, smiling.

"Hi Seb," I say, smiling back at him. "What are you drawing on the window?"

He wanders over to me, taking my hand and pulling it. Lin whispers to me, "He wants you to get up." I nod, and pull the hospital sheets off of me. Before I get up, I pause, frowning a little. I hadn't been allowed to walk when I got here, but I was feeling better. I just wasn't sure if I would be able to walk, not that my legs were injured.

Lin must notice my hesitance, because he comes to the other side of my bed, taking my other hand. "You can do it."

I give him a small smile and slowly stand up. I'm a bit shaky, but Lin helps to steady me. Sebby, still holding on to my other hand, starts to pull me forward, which makes me stumble.

"Sebastian!" Lin scolds him. "You have to go slow, bud, Mommy hasn't gotten up in a while so she's a little weak, ok?"

I look at Sebastian. He looks shocked that Lin yelled at him. Tears fill his eyes and he lets go of my hand. I guess he doesn't yell very often.

"S-sorry, Papa," Sebby stutters. I turn to Lin. He's looking at Sebastian with a saddened expression.

Holding my hand and kneeling down to Sebby's level, Lin says softly, "I don't mean to yell at you, Seb. You just have to learn to be careful, ok?" Sebby nods. "Come give me a hug." Lin holds his other arm out and Sebastian runs into him, squeezing him into a tight hug.

I stand there awkwardly for a moment, unsure of what to do. Lin lets go of my hand, hugging Sebby tighter, but leaving me to stand on my own.

Suddenly, I start to feel very nauseous. I quickly tap Lin's shoulder. "Lin-" I start. I'm unable to finish my sentence, because I rush to the bathroom and throw up into the toilet. In a split second, Lin is at my side, rubbing circles on my back.

Lin POV

"Come give me a hug," I say to Sebastian. He comes running into my arms, and I let go of Pippa's hand to give him a tight hug.

A moment later, I feel Pippa tapping my shoulder, saying, "Lin-" I release from Seb's grip and when I turn to Pippa, she's not there. I look the other way to see her kneeling over the toilet, throwing up. I gasp, hurrying over to her. I rub circles on her back, trying to comfort her.

Sebastian comes over to me and sits on the floor. He whispers in my ear, "Is Mommy okay? She keeps throwing up."

I nod and whisper back, "She's okay."
