Hi, this chapter has things in it that could be upsetting, so I will put a warning when it gets to the bit:)

30 years later...
July 27th
So in this time, all the girls had grown up. Erin and Jay had also grown older. A lot has changed.

Emilia was 37 and a very good doctor at Chicago Med. Following in her Uncle's footsteps. She was also married to Kim and Adam's son. Together they had Phoebe, their six year old daughter.

Annabelle was 33 and she followed in her parent's footsteps, a police officer. Unlike Emilia, Annie hadn't found time for a husband or children. She was dedicated to stopping crimes in Chicago.

And Charlotte, also 33 and a budding paramedic on Ambulance 61. Firehouse 51 was her home and her second family. Charlotte was married to Gabriela Dawson and Matt Casey's son. Jackson was their son together and he was so adorable, only four years old.

A couple after their honeymoon, Erin and Jay had the best news ever. Erin was pregnant again with their fourth child. Noah Aidan Halstead. Jay was finally blessed with a son; one that looked exactly like him. Noah was now a firefighter working along side Charlotte and her husband at 51. He had no kids or a girlfriend but was working on that factor.

The four Halstead children had found their own paths and lives. Erin and Jay were left so happy, with two grandchildren and four children.

Warning might be upsetting:
Now Erin and Jay, they had been through a lot over the past years. Hank, Erin's 'father', who had taken her in off of the streets when she was fifteen, had developed lymphoma of the brain. He needed bone marrow, Erin got tested and luckily she matched his. They both got the operation and Hank had recovered. But soon after, the cancer had returned. Hank had to go back into hospital. Emilia was only sixteen, the twins only twelve and Noah only ten. Hank was slowly dying, the whole thing broke the Halstead family. Jay tried to be there for Erin, but in true Erin Lindsay style, she let herself go back into the dark hole. He also tried to be there for his girls, they found it hard to see their grandpa slowly going away. But the children also found it hard to see their mother, fade away as well. Jay had felt is whole family break apart. This included the Intelligence Unit family. After awhile in hospital, Hank's body had started to shut down. And on a cold winter's afternoon, Hank Voight had passed away with his whole family next to him.

It took Erin a long time to get over his death, as she was the only thing he had left and now he was gone. But in his will, he'd left everything for her, even the Sargent position. So Erin took up the job of Sargent of the Intelligence Unit, and she did a hell of a job.

Then after ten years of leading the pack, Erin and Jay decided it was time to retire. And the conversation from thirty-five years ago came back, to retire in Jay's grandfather's cabin in Wisconsin. Eventually Erin gave in and agreed. As both Emilia and Charlotte were living with their boyfriends, they left their house to Annabelle. Noah was living on his own.

Now, Erin and Jay had been living in the cosy log cabin for ten years. Every summer, the kids would come for a vacation. It just so happens that today they were coming.

"Erin what time will the kids get here?" Jay asked. "Soon." Erin said, sorting the food out. "When's soon?" Jay asked, being annoying. "How longs a piece of string Jay." Erin was getting annoyed at him. Jay shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

"Mom, Dad." Emilia shouted. "Heyy!" Erin came rushing towards her eldest daughter. The pair hugged, "Where's my favourite granddaughter?" She asked. "I'm here grandma, plus I'm your only granddaughter silly." Phoebe went and hugged her grandma. "Grandpa where are you?" Phoebe ran off to Jay. "Where are the other two?" Erin asked. "Should be here soon, James is just getting the stuff out the car." Emilia explained. James was Adam and Kim's son, a handsome and caring man.
