June 29th
Jay was fast asleep in the chair by Erin's bed, when Voight and Emilia came in. "Shh." Voight motioned to Emilia. Emilia sat on the edge of Erin's bed and Voight stood by the door.

"Hi." Jay said waking up. "Daddy I missed you!!" Emilia jumped off the bed and sat on Jay's knee. "Hi baby girl." "When's mommy gonna wake up?" "Not sure."
"How is she?" Voight asked. "Rhodes and Bekker said she was doing good." Jay said. "Just hope she would wake up." He added.

Emilia and Hank had gone to get something to eat, leaving Jay on his own. "Jay..." Erin mumbled. "Erin, wait there." Jay said. He ran out of the room to get Ava and Connor. "How are you feeling?" Connor asked. "Like I was shot." Even though she was injured, Erin still tried to lighten the mood. "The bullet was on the left side. It didn't puncture the lung. You'll be sore for a while." Connor said. "What about the baby?" She asked. "Your baby is absolutely fine." Ava said smiling. "How long till I can work?" "Well we think it's best you don't work, you just do desk work." Connor said trying to approach it right. "Seriously." Erin complained. "Seriously, you'll be discharged tomorrow if everything stays alright. Then rest for a week and then you can do desk work." Connor said before leaving.

"I'm sorry Jay about everything." Erin said turning her head to him. "It's fine honestly, I'm just so glad you're okay." He kissed her hand. "So I take it you know about the baby then?" Erin said disappointed. "Yeah. It's amazing that we get another child." Jay smiled. "It is. It's just this isn't the way I wanted you to find out." Erin sighed. "I'm fine with it. As long as you and the baby are safe. How far along are you?" Jay asked. "Six weeks." Erin smiled. "I love you." Jay said. "I love you too." Erin kissed him.

"Mommy!" Emilia ran in and jumped on Erin. Erin winced in pain. "Emilia don't jump on her like that. Remember mommy's hurt." Jay warned his daughter. "Sorry daddy." Emilia apologised. "Sit next to me." Erin said shifting over to make room for Emilia. "Are you ok?" Emilia asked. "I am, I'm fine." Erin smiled.

The family stayed together all day until visiting hours were over. "Jay go home." Erin demanded. "I'm not leaving you here." He said. "You need to shower and have a proper sleep go!" Erin was serious. "Fine. I love you." Jay said and kissed her forehead.

Jay went home with Emilia and got her sorted out and in bed before getting himself sorted out. He got in the shower and then got into bed. Jay looked over towards Erin's side of the bed, he missed her a lot. He shut his eyes and fell asleep.

Unlike Jay, Erin couldn't get to sleep. She laid awake for hours in the uncomfortable hospital bed. Jay and Emilia was all that was on her mind. She couldn't believe she had been so stupid to get herself shot, especially when she's pregnant. Hours went by, Erin was still awake until she let her heavy eyes shut.

"Daddy can we go see mommy?" Emilia said junking on Jay and Erin's bed. "Yeah she's coming home today." Jay smiled at the thought of his fiancée being back home. "Yayyy but first can we get brekkie?" Emilia asked. "Yeah, pancakes okay?" Jay asked. "Definitely." Emilia got off the bed and ran into the kitchen.

When Jay got into the kitchen, Emilia was already sat at the table waiting. Jay cooked both of them pancakes and they ate them quickly. After, they got dressed and drove to Chicago Med.

"Hey, you ready to go home?" Jay asked as he entered Erin's room. "Yeah, so ready." Erin laughed. "Mommy's coming home." Emilia smiled and danced around. Erin and Jay laughed. Connor and Ava came in with all the paperwork Erin had to fill out before she left.
"You are free to go now." Connor said. "Ugh finally." Erin said. "You hated us that much." Ava laughed. "No just hospitals in general, I hate them." Erin complained. "Me too don't worry." Ava said.

A nurse came in with a wheelchair, "I can walk." Erin said. "I know standard procedure sorry." The nurse said. "It's fine."

Jay wheeled Erin out, with Emilia sat on her lap. They got to the car and Emilia went in her seat, as Jay helped Erin into the passenger side.

"Do you know it's weird seeing you driving." Erin looked at Jay. "It's feels nice." Jay smiled. "Don't get used to it." Erin said.

The family arrived home and got settled in. Erin made herself comfy next to Jay, with Emilia next to him on the other side on the sofa. They put on a film and snuggled together.
