At first glance I thought it was Stiles, but I knew Stiles had left before. When I thought about it Ro and Tamara we're going to be leaving in a few. I looked around to see where they were, they must've still been in their rooms.
Actually no one was around, it was just Luca, my dad and me. Stiles favored dad a lot just like how I did with mom. They both had the same brown curly hair, same little nose, same no nonsense expression, just everything. The only thing he got from our mom was skin tone and eyes.
You see our family is a weird type of people. Which means we aren't of one or few races, we're more than that. My mom and dad are mixed with a lot of things that I can't possibly name. Each gene is strong and shows. It took me a long time to understand that up 'til I ran away, everything after that made sense.
The thing that wasn't making sense was why my parents decided to start showing up.
"Okay I'm here, so what's up," I said sitting back on my chair.
"I just wanted to see you, is that a problem," my dad said in a strong no nonsense voice.
"Yes it is a problem, a huge one. First, mom comes to see me, with not a lot of time, not even making any type of sense. Now you're here, for what? If y'all wanted to see me you could've done it a long time ago," I said feeling like I finally lifted a burden of my chest.
Luca put his hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down.
"Chill, Nala, just listen to what the man has to say before you spit fire at him," he said to me.
"Fine, why are you here?"
He was taken aback from my attitude for him. Honestly I didn't know how to feel. I love them, but at the same time I was confused. Just plainly and utterly confused.
"Like I said, I'm here because I wanted to see you. Your mom and I wanted to see you earlier, but you're a hard one to find. You haven't really stayed in one spot, until now. Your mom wanted to stay with you, but just like it's easy to find you its even easier to find us, that's why we don't have much time. You're still a little new, you're tracks are harder to traces, but ours aren't. Do you get what I'm saying?," my dad said leaning over to me.
"I don't, but how much time do you have left," I asked finally picking up a slice of pizza.
"Not a lot his mom will come out of it in a few minutes and-"
"Wait, come out of what? What did you do," I asked, feeling like I was a few seconds short of getting thrown out again.
"I wrote her a note on a glass of water mixed with something, to go get something at the grocery store. Eventually she'll forget why she went there and leave."
"Are you crazy! Nobody leaves anything nice out for her-" I turned to Luca real quick -" no offense," he shrugged his shoulders. "What if she thinks I put something in it. She doesn't like me already."
"Calm down, Nala, before you burn down the house. Im pretty sure he wouldn't do something bad and than let you take the blame. You'll be back, hidden in your room before my mom comes back and if not I'll tell her I carried you out against you will," Luca said.
Honestly I don't burn up if I get worried or anything. I just occasionally heat up and sometimes cause things to burn or sizzle. I don't mean to do it, I mean not all the time.
My dad was studying looking at me up and down now. I felt like a weird animal put on display. It was starting to make me more agitated. I felt like I made everyone else agitated too, because they started shifting uncomfortably. Then it got real calm, real quick. It was like a wave of happy thoughts hit me in the face.
