Noah and Tony were following us the whole time. I must've hit Tony in the nose because it was bleeding, really badly. Noah was limping a slight bit. I watched Ro fall to to the ground, while they laughed and high-fived each other. I stood there stunned by the whole thing, not knowing what to do.
Tony fixed his eyes on me and pointed to Ro on the ground, "Oh I'm sorry, does he belong to you."
Noah laughed and said,"I swear we won't kill him, but for right now, we're going to give you that welcome. You can watch the show, I'll try to be quick."
Noah was picking up a branch ready to swing at Ro who was dazed and confused. I was
running towards them when he screamed out, "No!" I stopped and stared at him, trying to plead with my eyes. "DON'T DO ANYTHING. I'll be okay, just don't do anything." He said, while Tony was picking up rocks the size of my fist.I nodded my head, bracing myself for the scene that was about to happen. He was holding his own for a little, Noah swung the branch at his stomach, but he caught it. Then Tony threw several rocks, he dodged some but ended up getting hit in the face with one causing him to stumble. I really wanted to help, but that would make him more mad at me.
I was on the verge of screaming, I couldn't watch anymore. I closed my eyes trying to listen when it was over. Someone put their hands on me, I refused to let myself see anymore of that beating.
Noah whispered in my ear in a sadistic voice,"Welcome to North Cross Arrow. We're done here," pushing me onto the ground.
I opened my eyes to see a huge gash on Ro's head, his lip was swollen and he had a black eye. That really set me off, I was tired of staying calm and told not to do anything. I may be small, but that allowed me to learn how to fight people who're bigger than me.
"Why," I said, realizing I was crying.
"Well you see we said we weren't going to mess with you," Noah said.
I looked over to Tony whose face looked like it turned to stone, for a moment I thought I saw regret flash through his eyes. Noah just kept a smirk on his face the whole time.
Slowly regaining my calm, I stood up walking up to Noah looking up at him. "You're finished now leave. You've made you're point, the welcome could've been better if I do say so myself," I said.
Noah scoffed at me, walking away calling Tony to follow him. Ro was on the ground half conscious, mumbling something I couldn't make out.
"Come on, Ro we have to get home so Nala can fix you," I said to him, trying to help him onto his feet.
It took what seemed like forever to get Ro and myself back to the house. Ro never got his balance back, I had to practically drag him the whole time. I dropped him in the front yard and ran in the house to get help. The first person I saw was Luca who was sitting on the couch.
"Hey Ta- woah! Are you okay?! Nala, stiles, come here," he yelled out, looking me up and done concerned.
I had no time to explain, I pulled him out of the house to Ro who was still laying on the ground. I hadn't even noticed that I had blood all on my shirt.
Luca stared at Ro in shock and then at me, "What happened and who in the hell did this," he demanded.
I told him everything I knew as fast as I could. Luca got really mad. I started to notice his eyes change when he got that way. The more intense the color showed me how mad he was. Let me just tell you I've never seen the intensity in his eyes before, even though I've only known him for a little while now.
Nala and Stiles came running out a little after I explained what happened. This time Luca told the story for me. Nala fixed her eyes on me as if she judging everything about me all over again.
"Bring him in and set him on the floor. Luca can you try to find Diomedes for me please. Stiles can you go get Jasper for me as well. Tamara get some ice, a towel, and blanket," she said calmly but sounding like a drill sergeant.
Everyone went to work quickly, Stiles found Jasper and helped Ro inside, Luca left to go find Diomedes, and I, well I got the stuff. Nala looked so sure of what she was doing, I hoped she was. They laid Ro on the ground inside and I pointed to the spots that were messed up.
Besides his face and head, the only thing that worried me was is ribs and back, that's where they hit him the most. Nala checked his ribs and said they were fine just really bruised, same for his back. She bent down listening to whatever he's been mumbling.
She looked at me and asked, "Why does he keep saying, don't do anything?"
I stood uneasily, "I was going to help him, but he told not to, because he'll be fine. I guess he's stuck on that sentence. I don't know why," I replied.
Nala looked down at Ro and shook her head, "Dammit Ro, you're not fine. You should've let her help, stupid." He mumbled something's else I couldn't understand, but she did. "She can handle herself."
Luca came back and pointed outside, Nala left to go talk to the man outside, who I guessed was Diomedes. I looked out the window and watched them, unable to hear what exactly they were talking about. They started off calm, then Nala got frustrated, giving Diomedes a lot of sass. He kept his cool the whole time. They started yelling getting everyone's attention, he nodded in what looked like defeat and she hugged him. They came into the house standing by Ro, Diomedes touched the top of his head and Nala touched his ankles.
"When I say go, do it, not a sec less," Diomedes said. Nala nodded. They drew their breath in when he said, "Go."
Their arms tensed, Ro body spasm for a quick second and stopped. He went still, very still.
"What did you do," Jasper asked before I could.
"Go," Diomedes said again ignoring the question. Their arms tensed again, Ro's body stayed still this time.
"How many more times," Nala asked.
"One more. Go," he said. This time when they're arms tensed fire flicked off of Nala arm. "Too much." The fire dimmed and Ro sat up gasping and holding onto his chest. "Didn't actually think that would work, could've killed him. Good job, you, " he said trying to high-five Nala, which she declined shaking her head.
"You're not making it better." She turned her green gaze to Jasper. "You asked what we did. Well our dear Ro here had his skull cracked and he was bleeding to much on the inside. I had a feeling he could help. It only happened once that someone healed another person and not accidentally killed them."
Ro did seem fine, breathing hard, but fine. He was still bloody and bruised, but at least now he could function on his own now. Nala looked a little pale now and like she was going to pass out, which made me wonder if she was even going to be alright. Diomedes looked about the same, but just a little tired.
"Are y'all going to be okay," I asked looking back and forth at them.
"I'm good, but I think she's probably going to be unconscious for about an hour in a few. Takes a lot out of you doing that," Diomedes said getting up. "Well I must be on my way now."
"You can't stay. I mean just for a little," I said.
"I really need to go. I might be back to talk to Nala, tomorrow. Before I go Luca may I have a word with you."
Luca looked a bit uneasy like he just tasted pure bile. He nodded his head and moved away from Nala who was resting her head on him. He whispered something to her, she shrugged her shoulders and nodded, then he left.
Later that day I went to go check on Nala she'd been sleep the rest of the day after the situation with Ro. She was on her bed laying on her side. If she was awake I couldn't tell, if she was I hoped she'd move or something. I hadn't even notice Luca was next to her, he was to busy listening to music to have noticed me walking in. She seemed fine, so I turned to leave.
"Wait," Luca whispered, slowly getting out of the bed. "I just wanted to say thanks for bringing Ro here all the way back. It means a lot to me, he like my brother. Nala said if you got here later he'd probably be close to death by now and wouldn't of been able to save," he said pulling me into a hug. "Thanks again."
He left going back to Nala's room closing the door. I didn't really want to go back to my room, but exhaustion took over.
