"Who needs alarm clocks when I have you

"Who needs alarm clocks when I have you." I grumble to her with a horse morning voice.

She just wriggles around on the bed with her feet up in the air. She lets out a cute squeak.

"Five more minutes." I pull the blankets over my head "Then I'll get up." She wasn't taking no for an answer as she crawls to me and diggs her paws into my back. Trying to push me off the bed.

I sit up with a huff and look at her. "Fine Sagwa. I'm up! Happy?" She just smiles at me. Looking like the most innocent angel. She gruffs a bit at me then jumps from the bed and trotts off to the kitchen. Her stubby little tail wagging happily. Looking very pleased with herself.

Sagwa's favorite place in the world is this little dog park hidden deep in the city of Seoul, Halmeoni's Garden. It's not really a park per se. It's actually a plot of land owned by an elderly couple. A neat array of flowers decorating the place is what Mrs. Lee spends most of her time on. It's my hidden paradise.

I let my excited pup off her leash and watch her bolt around for a bit. Eventually I make it to the proud little cafe that Mr. Lee had built in his spare time for his wife a long time ago. I walk in unafraid to pull my mask and hat off. "Halmeoni!" My call is answered with the clanging of pots and some yelling about bananas. I smile to myself as I take my usual seat at the bar. With one circle table and two seats in the corner and only two bar stools my choice for seating was not hard. Though there was a single armrest in the opposite corner it was usually occupied with a cat or with Mr. Lee and a book.

The clanging of the kitchen door swings open revealing a spirited woman carrying a hot pan of something "I told you it's beside the back door. What would I do with your stinky old pipe?" Her loud voice fills the room.Thankfully it doesn't have a chance to echo as the many decorations and nicknacks crowding the walls and shelves make for great sound insulation.

She quickly turns to me with a blooming smile "HANUEL!" She shuffles around the corner and squeezes me into a hug! "How are you! I watched you on TV!" She pinched my cheek "You looked so pretty on stage! I am so proud of you darling!" Her whole face glowing with pride at me.

She looks to the kitchen and continues to yell. As long as I have known her Mrs. Lee has always been a very loud person. "Joe! Come out here and tell her how proud you are of her!" The only response is Sagwa barking excitedly as she walks in through the dog door. "OH MY BABY! Come here!" She immediately trots to Halmeoni and demands all the attention to be on her. Her little nub of a tail just wiggling wildly.

"Sagwa wanted to come see her Halmeoni. Had to make it up to her for being so busy lately." I say as i watch the exchange. My dog is not very trusting of others. Usually staying on guard and at attention around strangers but from day 1 after accidentally finding this place she was putty in Mrs. Lee's hands and shortly after Mr. Lee's as well.
