Annalise slumped in the holding cell, her eyes distant, as if every event that occurred that night flashed in her mind. She only snapped out of it when a buzz sounded, followed by the two lead detectives entering the cell. They wordlessly led her to an interrogation room where they all sat down. After a minute, the female detective inquired,

"You sure you don't want us to wait for your attorney?"

Annalise disregarded the offer. "Just tell me."

The male in the room piped up. "The official charge—arson and first-degree murder."

The suspected woman made no reaction. She simply asked, "The evidence?"

"An anonymous source." He said. "They've provided information that ties you to the charges."

The other office leaned forward. "Now do you want an attorney?"

Two Weeks Earlier

Alyssa sat in a room at court with her fellow law students, not to mention Annalise and the new clients. They were defending three siblings who were being accused of poisoning their mother. Currently, they were watching the mother speak out on the news.

"They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Finally, they tested my blood and realized I had been poisoned with antifreeze."

"What would you like to say to those who did this to you?" The reporter asked.

"I've searched my soul, but there's no understanding of any of this. What kind of children try to kill their own mother?"

"That whole interview is an Oscar performance." One of her sons hissed.

      "Mr. Duvall—"

He cut Annalise off. "She's probably not even sick. Jared, back me up on this."

The other man in the room shook his head meekly. "She's not a nice lady."

"We don't care. Listen, from here on out, the only feelings you have for your mother are love and devotion." Annalise said.

From then on, everyone retreated back to Middleton, as Annalise needed to speak with all of them about the clients. Once the students were seated, she began.

"The prosecution has forced us into holding depositions before the trial. Their excuse is that Edith can die at any time, so it would be in our best interest to get the case thrown out pre-trial. This will not be an easy task considering the evidence."

      She paced around the room.

"Edith will be present at all the depositions. This is a ploy by the prosecution to trigger our clients into saying something stupid on camera, quite possible considering who we're dealing with."

Alyssa brow's creased. She wondered if Keating was referring to A.D.A. Atwood, seeing as the two women hated each other for some reason.

"The key to beating this is to make sure that the siblings present a united front. They need to speak in detail about their affection for their mother."

Annalise went on to give them roles for prepping the three siblings, requesting that they all returned to court immediately to get started.

Upon arrival in the courthouse, the students filed into chairs while Alyssa walked right to the front table, as she would be speaking with Nelson. The man already lounged in his chair in front of her. Asher slid into the spot next to her, yellow notepad in hand. Once Annalise signalled that she was ready, Alyssa questioned,
