Chapter fifteen is just one part. Enjoy!

Alyssa's hands quivered in fear as she stood with Michaela in Karmen in front of a police officer. It was the day after Connor went to Denver, and they had still heard nothing from the boy. She was growing more nervous by the second, her mind raising suspicions that something terrible was happening to him.

"His name is Connor Walsh. The D.A. brought him into the station yesterday." Michaela explained, possibly the only one out of the three able to think with a clear mindset.

The officer typed in the name on her computer, a minute passing before she said,

"No offender by that name in our system."

Repulsed by the use of the term 'offender', Alyssa corrected frantically,

"He's not an offender. He's been kidnapped and is being held against his will and we need him back!"

The lady gazed at her in bewilderment. "Have you been ingesting illegal substances?"

Alyssa groaned, biting on her tongue.

"My client here is understandably upset about her boyfriend being missing. Your lack of urgency in this matter can be construed as insensitive, but we'll ignore that if you at least let us file a missing-persons report." Michaela raged.

The worker sighed through her nose. "When did you say he went missing?"

      "Last night around seven p.m."

"Seriously?" She bit back. "Not even a full twenty-four hours?"

      Michaela faltered. "No, but—"

"You sure he's not just trying to get away from the three of you? Because I can relate." The officer sassed, causing the three to scoff, but ultimately back down. All Alyssa could do was hope Asher was having better luck at the D.A.'s.

That hope was quickly tarnished when the group reconvened at Annalise's home, Laurel also present. Asher explained how Denver wasn't in his office, then Michaela told him about the events that occurred at the police station. So, they tried to formulate ideas as to how they would get Connor back.

"We could pull the fire alarm at the police station and find Connor that way." Asher suggested as the front door opened and closed. Alyssa merely glanced at Bonnie while Karmen snapped,

"What a great way to get arrested."

"He probably already signed an immunity deal." Laurel repeated for what had to be the third time that day. Alyssa shot her daggers.

"How many times do I have to tell you he would never do that?"

Laurel hissed, "Until you finally get that you're wrong!"

      "And why is that?"

"Think about all the times he's betrayed you. Like when he slept with all those people when you guys took a break or—"

Right as Alyssa was about to explode, Michaela cut in.

"Okay, can we just be nice to each other for one second?"

They ignored her, Alyssa instead deciding to raise her tone to match Laurel's. Soon enough, the two were practically screaming at each other.

"I need you all to shut up so I can tell you something!"

They stopped and reluctantly turned to Bonnie.

"Is it about Connor?" Alyssa perked up, wondering if maybe she was closer to finding him.
