"How are you feeling?" Asked Daphne, sitting down next to Alice's gurney and bringing her an extra blanket.

Uncontrollably trembling and shriving, her friend accommodated the blanket over her body and barely answered her. "I'm still cold."

Madam Pomfrey left a hot mug on the table besides her. By the smell irradiating from it, Alice assumed it was tea. "Yes, the same has happened to Apolline Delacour," she explained while pointing at the quivering girl a few beds away from them. Her sister Fleur sat next to her on the bed whilst rubbing her shoulders as hard as she could, but it obviously wasn't helping. "you've become mildly hypothermic. I'll get you more blankets."

Although Alice already had a couple of them, she wouldn't mind some more layers to warm up. As soon as Madam Pomfrey left, Alice noticed Astoria, who was standing behind Daphne's chair and had her eyes fixed on the tip of her shoes. It seemed like she was trying to hold back from crying, and Alice hated seeing her like that. "Don't be sad Astoria, I'll be okay."

"It's not you..." The younger girl replied as a single tear finally fell down her cheek. "I can't believe Hermione was Viktor's hostage. That means he really likes her, doesn't he?"

"Well, sometimes the person we want to be with is not actually who we're meant to be with." Daphne didn't look at her while she gave her advice, so it came out more like she was talking to herself. Astoria sniffed and tried to wipe away the tears of her face, but they wouldn't stop forming again on her eyes. "We'd better go." She sighted, seeing that her sister wasn't ashamed to make a scene right there. "Get well, okay?" She gave Alice a peck on the forehead and took Astoria out of the Hospital Wing.

"You should get going too." Alice addressed Draco, who had remained silent since they'd got there.

The boy shook his head and took the seat where once Daphne sat. "Nope, for once I'm the one taking care of you."

"You're not taking care of anyone." Madam Pomfrey replied to him before Alice could. She placed another cover over Alice's bed and told her to drink the tea she'd brought her before it got cold. After she left, Draco cleared his throat to get Alice's attention.

"I thought you had changed your mind about me," He confessed, shyly. "when you disappeared this morning."

Alice hurried to swallow the gulp of tea in her mouth. "I didn't." She said honestly.

"I'm glad of that." Draco smiled and then locked eyes with her. "I'll never let anything happen to you again. I promise."

Alice raised an eyebrow as she left the mug back on the table. Her hands weren't shaking anymore. "I can take care of myself, you know." She then tried to put straight the new cover the school healer had given her, but on her attempt, it slipped and fell to the floor. Draco picked it up and placed it where Alice had intended to in the first place.
