Chapter One: The Gate

[𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 23:40]
[𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 10, 2035]

Darkness. Often referred to as the absence of light or the embodiment of evil. Well, it had its meaning depending on whatever situation was present. Darkness had begun its ascension on Vicinia city, nonchalantly clawing its way through the alleyways of this skyscraper filled city, every corner, every turn, all dripping with his thirsting saliva.

Walking, tip tap was the shoes of a trio of lads. One taller than the other two, whilst one of them was the shortest. Black hair sat on the head of one of these boys, his hair like a helmet placed by a barber. Nicely shaved sides trimmed to perfection. Alongside him walked his duo of friends, one with a red mop falling from his head, slightly shielding his crimson eyes. On the right walked a much shorter, wimpier boy with the same hair style as the lad in the middle. The only difference was the colour, blonde. They called themselves 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀.

"Eyo Wyvern, do you actually believe that there's an eternal party under that tab? I mean, it just sounds like bullshit to me." The one on the far right spoke to the one on the left. "All I know is that I wanna party. Let's do this." Wyvern's deep toned voice held onto Kieran's ears. "And you, Skyler? Do you believe in the rumours?" The lad in the middle hung his head, staring at his lit cellphone scrolling through his newsfeed. "I don't even know what to believe no more." After turning his head towards the road ahead, a traffic light signalled to them, "stop."

Traffic in the form of cars, motorcycles and trucks birthed loud noises during this cool night. A petite zephyr graced the land with its tranquil presence, giving those walking the night feelings of freshness. These three were obviously walking around at the wrong time, 23h35 signalled Wyvern's golden watch. "Ain't it kinda late for you, Kie?" Wyvern sought to agitate the youngest of the three, Kieran with the golden hair. "Oh shut up. Just cause you look like somebody's dad doesn't—" Interrupted, Skyler spoke. "Both of you bitches shut up. The cemetery is just up ahead." Skyler uttered before burying his phone in his black jean's right pocket.

After walking quite a distance within Vicinia City, a city famed for its span of skyscrapers, the trio was now faced with a cemetery. A place where those who lost their lives were placed to rest. "This is it. I don't think sixteen year olds are allowed in here." Skyler said with a chuckle. It was clear who his utterance was directed to. Maturity at its best, Kieren's shoulders shrugged it off. "Eyo, y'all got your Okapis right? If shit happens, we resort to violence." Wyvern inquiried. "Yuh." Both Kie and Sky said in Unison before eating a large chunk of air. Forward they stepped, entered the cemetery they did.

Claws grew from the cemetery's floors, trees, dead. Black crows flocked above the dead filled land. These black feathered fowls expelled their sinister cries as some paved the path for the three boys to walk through. A rather thick mist began enveloping the entire area, bringing their vision to a bare minimum. Kieran turned back, only to discover that the entrance had vanished within the mist, brushed away by its gripping feel. "Uh, guys, this ain't it." Kieran was struck by fear. He couldn't bear the feeling, his stomach growled. "Bro, shut up. We told you to stay didn't we?" Both Kieran and his tummy did as they were ordered.

They ventured quite deep into the cemetery until suddenly, a black humanoid figure stood in the middle of the road. Still, it seemed dead. Their pulsating hearts paced up. Each of them could hear their throbbing hearts as they stared holes into the figure. Skyler slightly shivered as he tucked his hand into his pocket. He brought out his cell to shine its light unto this figure. Surprisingly, it was a scarecrow. "Fuck. Who would put such a thing in the middle of the god damned road?!" Agitation mixed with fear was visible in Skyler's slight yell. "Ey bruh I almost shit my pants."
