Dead Souls Alive
Chapter Two: Main Objective
[Visinia City, Cemetery]
[February 10, 23h45]How quickly the zephyr shifted from its calm touch to a vicious tempest. The city was now dominated by winds of different beliefs and cultures. Perhaps the events occuring in the grave yard had something to do with the sudden change. The planet's natural satellite hung above, beaming with a crystal blue hue as it watched the paranormal events unfold. Truth be told, he was shocked too. “Hm? Kids?” The tall figure's distorted voice broke out as he glared at the trio of boys with his only good eye. Frozen stiff into the ground were these boys as they watched a paranormal event unfold. It was not everyday events like these happened and such put them in a frenzy. 'Why can't I move?!' All three boys mentally said in unison, muscles stiffened by fear.
"It seems the kids of this time are able to decipher the ancient writings." He said once more. Rags of clothes held him together with his unattractive figure exuding a rather unpleasant stench. "Can't believe they thought there was a party in here." The female behind him spoke, releasing a slight giggle. "I-I don't know if y'all know this but, these things are z-zombies." Kieran spoke with a low tone, seeking to alert his dumbstruck friends. "We better get outta here." Skyler spoke beneath his heavy breath. Suddenly, Wyvern casted away his fear with a frown. Eyes beaming with persistence and fearlessness. He held out his bulky chest and walked forward. His walking bore no feelings. It seemed as if he had gotten rid of every venomous drop within his body. "What's your objective exactly, if I may ask, undead?" Moments after he spoke, a spooky wave of wind dragged along with it dead leaves from the dead trees encircling the cemetery. Debris too were gathered within this breeze. His face, deadpan as usual.
"Well, to revive the dead souls that failed to accomplish what their hearts desired. To bring them back and cause devastation to the world which caused them suffering." The undead man spoke before releasing a sigh. Wyvern expelled a sigh of his own, heavier. "So you're basically trying to twist the laws of biology for your childish objective? What happens once the world is thrown into chaos? When everyone is dead? Do you realise that you will be ruining what our ancestors strived so hard for? What our ancestors suffered for?!" Wyvern's tone was far from a teenager's. Agitation began to grow like a fresh sapling within a barren wasteland. His way of speaking tended to shift into a completely different form. He wanted answers, he wasn't requesting.
"What a fiery spirit. I like that!" The blemished figure uttered before scratching his partly bald head. "Well, we all don't die when we want to, right? This brought me and my associate here to assist those who died with regrets. I don't give a crap what happens to your 'strived for world' and all that bullshit. In fact, I'll rule this world once our plan comes to play." The dead figure walked towards a tombstone and sat on it. "Like this man here, he says he wanted to kill his neighbour because he snatched his wife from him. Who am I to disagree to such an inspirational goal? I know I would do the same if a random folk took her from me." He said, pointing towards his fellow undead who sat on the stone which previously sealed their grave. She waved towards the trio of boys with a smile. Her skin didn't seem much too blemished, still holding a hint of beauty in her.
"So tell me, Wyvern. Why don't you join us instead–" Wyvern curtailed his speech. "I would rather fall from the tallest building, have my bones break and have vultures eat my remains before I join you." The look in his eyes transcended. The resentment he held for the undead before him was visible in his crimson orbs. He was a boy who believed that death came at anytime. Cheating death was not manly in his eyes. After his little speech, both his friends were in awe. Inspiration filled their boots. Fear began to wane. Gradually, it faded. Wyvern immediately turned towards his friends and grabbed the both of them by their collars.
