chapter 4

i wake up to the maid taking matteos dirty washing out his room i sit up and look at her as she whispers "sorry dear i didn't mean to wake you"
"it's no bother o better get heading anyways" i whispered back.

i sat on my phone for a good 15 minutes before getting up slipping on my shoes and heading for the hallway, it took me a while to find the maid and eventually i found her.
"where's the front door?" i questioned
"oh i'll walk you to it honey is this you away now?" she asked
"yeah i don't want to take up any of your time and space"
"oh honey don't be silly there's plenty space for you" as she hugged me tightly for a short while
"you were lovely dear"
"thank you, you were also the greatest, but i best be off now hopefully we'll run into each other again one day" i smiled and walked away.

the maids pov
as soon as raelyn left i knew i had to tell matteo that she'd left last night i overheard the same phone call matteo had with her boyfriend and it didn't seem all like a friendly chat much more the opposite to be honest
i started sprinting up the stairs through every single hall to get to matteos room

i got to matteos room and bursted in
"jesus mairlyn you could've came in any louder"
"sorry boss but you know the girl who stayed last night?!"
"raelyn?, yeah where is she, is she showering?"
"um no boss she left i couldn't stop her but i gave her a hug when she left an-"
"A HUG! A HUG MAIRLYN WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES A HUG MAKE" he shouted in annoyance
"if you would've let me finish matteo, i planted a tracking device on her back when i was hugging her so yes the hug did make a rather big difference
matteo scoffs

raelyns pov
i'm almost home i got the bus with the loose change i had in my handbag i knew i had to get home quickly before kane got even more annoyed but i also knew how annoyed matteo is going to be when he wakes up and sees i'm gone just hopefull mairlyn doesn't say anything to him.

soon after i got off the bus i had to walk little to 5 minutes to reach my flat once i was standing outside a flush or anxiety ran through me and i started to panic i started debating if i should walk back to matteos penthouse or suck it up and the punishment i'm about to get, the longer i stood the more i panicked but as soon as i made my decision to go back to matteos the door handle turned and the door opened,
"ahh raelyn" kane said surprised
you could tell he was absolutely trolleyed it's only 11am but i dread going think how much he's drunk already.
"um hi kane" i said shaking
he grabbed my wrist and dragged me inside he took me to the couch and sat me down and he got a drink and sat down directly across from me looking into my soul i tried to avoid eye contact as much as i could but it didn't last long
"look at me you stupid bitch" kane shouted
i look him in the eye trying to push my fear behind me... imagine being afraid of your own boyfriend i thought to myself
"so where have you been all night then?" i camly reply "at matteos penthouse you know that"
"don't get cheeky with me" he snarled
i put my head down
"didnt i tell you to look at me!?"
"y-yes" i stuttered "so why aren't you" he growled while getting up
"what are you doing kane?"
he comes closer then starts punching me and tugging on my hair trying to get me to the ground, he eventually gets me onto the ground and starts to kick me then gets on top of me then punching me in the face.

all a sudden the door handle started turning again but the door was locked then before we knew it someone kicked the door down it was matteo...
"i heard screaming?"
"who the fuck are you and why are you booting my door down you silly rat" kane snarls
"kane stop" i whisper
"this is what i mean raelyn you always protect other people you silly slut"
kane goes to slap me but matteo grabs his arm
"don't you dare hit my little raelyn ever again" matteo says making intense eye contact with kane
"and who are you to tell me what to and what not to do?" kane says being cocky
"i'm matteo, you know the guy on the phone"
"matteo... matteo ricca?"
"that's my name, rae go pack your stuff your coming with me and mairlyn i don't care what you say your coming your not staying in this hellhole with this psycho grab everything that's yours and i mean everything".

i run to my room and pack all of my clothes and get everything that belongs to me lying about the house and put them into my bags i walked back to the living room with 6 bags to see matteo and kane having a fight over me i just thought to myself kane is supposed to be the love of my life but he doesn't act like it and matteo actually cares for me and my future and even if it means loosing the love of my life i'd rather be safe and sound and stay with matteo...

"let's settle this the right was" matteo exclaimed
i thought guns... he'll pull out a gun,
"raelyn" he said
"um yes matteo?"
"do you want to stay with me or stay with kane?"
i looked at them both and kane was pointing to himself while punching his hand matteo then turned around to him and gave him an evil looking glare then kane stopped with the punching "so" kane says getting impatient "give her time" matteo said before kane could get anymore words in" kane went and sat down and i turned around to matteo and said "i'd like to stay with you please matteo if that's okay"
kane stood up and went to hit me to i grabbed onto matteo and matteo went over to kane and said "i dare you kane go for it!" kane backed off and sat down "i cant believe you lyn"
"lyn?? i've never heard that in my life kane and what do you mean you can't believe me you hit me like 6 times a day then ask me to run after you like nothing ever happened and your going to turn around and say you can't believe me? your ridiculous kane" i said then stormed off to matteos car and i saw mairlyn i ran up to her and hugged her while sobbing into her shoulder "your so strong dear" and hugged me while rubbing my back.

matteos pov
"what she said kane, not a word of it was incorrect you lost the best you could get you'll never get another like her, you need to get your act together if you want a girl that's going to love you"
"yeah i know bro" kane said with his head in his hands
"you know?? well sort yourself out and i'm not your bro" then i walked out, i ran over to the car quickly "raelyn!" "yeah" you could tell she'd been crying her face was all puffy and her face was red i wrapped my arms around her and kissed her forehead "it'll be okay love your safe now your with us"
"i know" she sobbed "hey hey hey" and i hushed "look at me raelyn" she looked at me with her beautiful ocean blue eyes she looked me right in the eye i didn't break the eye contact her eyes were full of tears but she blinked the tears back her eyes looked so emotionless and so empty she seemed so loss so now had no guide of what path to choose to walk down to decide the rest of her life after all she's moving in with a mafia boss
"are you okay now" i asked while running my hand softly through her silky long dark hair
"i'm sure i'll be okay i'm just so shocked and startled like i thought he was the love of my life and now i'm just me" she said while trembling
i didn't know what to do or what to say so i just held her close.

raelyns pov
i just want to get some good food down me and get some rest today has been such a rollercoaster,

we arrived home i asked matteo where i should sleep he said i should sleep beside him for the night i agreed it would be a good idea so i went to his bed slipped on some of my pyjamas and slowly drifted off to sleep while thinking about today.

id planned to go see kane a few days after to see if he'd calmed down thrm move back in with him but little did i know that was the time i'd ever see kane ever again.
