"It'll involve one-" Kie had been cut off
"Dibs out!" Pope called, shaking his head vigorously.
"Ditto!" JJ spoke up quickly, yet nonchalantly as if he really didn't care, to which he didn't. He wasn't going to help Tallulah with her boy troubles. That was a no from him.
"Hey, that's not fair." John B pointed, his brown long hair falling into his face as he stepped away from Kie, pointing to both boys in defense.
"Is so." Pope nods. "I'm not doing it."
"Hey!" Kiara spoke up, walking between the boys and shoved John away with her fist to his chest. She eyed each of them separately and they gave her each a different look. "You don't even know what it is yet."
Tallulah looked up from her towel, beginning to stand. "All right, shoot." JJ said.
"We gotta make Rafe notice her-"
"And he doesn't now?" John crossed his arms.
"As I was saying," She continued, placing her long curly hair behind her shoulder. "And what makes a guy jealous?"
The boys thought for a little bit, none of them having been in a serious relationship in the last while. JJ wasn't quite the same, he played every girl and skipped from one to another, never really sticking with one. "I don't know."
"Another guy." Lou spoke up, placing a hand to John B's shoulder as she approached the group huddled near Kie at the console. JJ still by the wheel with Pope sitting across from him on the edge of the boat and lastly Kie leaning by the console. The girls shared a look as Lou had come to her decision, ready to face the fact she was giving in to Kie's ridiculous idea.
Pope stood in a hurry. "You think we'll make Rafe jealous?"
"Not quite, but it's why we thought on-" Kie began, but Lou had cut her off.
"JJ." She finished.
The blond crushing a beer can against his knee hadn't bothered to look up, already cracking another one open. The four friends looked to their last friend, who seemed clueless about the current conversation and Pope was cheering it wasn't him they called. He loved Lou with his whole heart, but he truly was leaning toward Kiara.
"JJ." John B said.
"What?" He looked up.
"Did you not hear what we said?" Kie asked, almost wanting to laugh but remained quiet.
He shook his head, standing up to join the group now. "What's up?" He asked.
"You and Lou-" She began, Lou and JJ locking eyes momentarily, almost entering a staring contest. "Will fake date."
"Ha!" JJ laughed, tossing the beer can onto the floor of the boat, earning a wicked stare from Kie. "You're joking?"
"No." Lou stepped forward, more confident in this idea now.
"No." He shook his head. "NO WAY!" He continued and backed away, hands up in defense. "No." He kept nagging on.
John B raised a brow, slightly concerned about this as he glanced to Pope, who remained quiet. Lou watched JJ shake his head vigorously at the idea, but she knew well he would have to put up with it. "You need cash, I need help." She tells JJ, crossing her arms over her chest. "You teach me to surf, I'll pay you and in return you help me."
"No." He shook his head. "Besides, I'd teach you to surf for free."
"He would." John B nodded, knowing JJ had a crush on her, hell, they all did. They had crushes on both girls, it was clear.
