Mikasa's pov
We had just left our belongings at the hotel, ready for when we'd come to collect them later. We were now in a taxi. I looked down to see his fingers still intertwined with mine.

He must've noticed I was staring because he pulled away not long after. I missed the comfort almost instantly, I wanted to hold his hand again, there's just something about him that makes me feel safe, something I can't get from Eren, Armin or anyone else.

I can't take it anymore. I took his hand and held it. I scooted closer to him and rested my head in his shoulder, I let my eyes shut and I drifted into a calming sleep.

"Mikasa, Mikasa wake up. I think we've arrived " I woke up to a smiling Jean looking down at me. I rubbed my eyes and looked around to see fun fair lit up with the most beautiful lights ever. We paid the taxi fare and walked into the park.

"So this is where we were going a fun fair" he looked around in what I think was amazement. I hugged his arm and dragged him over to our first ride of the night.

Whenever I looked at him he'd always have an unreadable facial expression but when we were on rides he'd look like he was having the time of his life.

I wondered what he was thinking about in between rides but I'd never actually ask him, I'm trying to distract him, not remind him.

After we were done with all the rides we sat on a bench with some snacks and just relaxed. I'd realised that I didn't let go of his hand and he didn't let go of mine. I don't think this moment can get any better than this.

Jean's pov

We just sat their together. She looked so calm, I can't ruin that but I can't keep pretending to enjoy this. I have to, I have to play the part. She cannot find out that this is the last place I saw Marco. No matter what.

I looked around to see the sunset and Mikasa asleep on my shoulder.

"Mikasa?" I gave her a slight shake to wake her up. I picked up Mikasa, carried her to the ferris-wheel and laid her down on the seats. I waited until we were near the top to wake her up. I helped her up, and we watched.

"It's beautiful" she mumbled

"but it's still got nothing on you" I said with a smile.

We got to the hotel at about half nine after watching the sunset, shopping and other stuff, we were exhausted we needed some proper food in our bodies.

"I'm gonna order us something is there anything you want?" I asked her "some fries, a burger and another bed maybe?" I laughed at the petty use of sarcasm

"I told you that I can sleep on the floor, it's not that big of a deal" I said as I grabbed the phone for room service

"Hello, yes can we have 2 orders of burger and fries please, also can we have 2 milkshakes please? Yes that's it. Thank you very much" I sat down in front of the bed and got my phone out, I checked my messages and missed calls and saw that Sasha and Connie had both called me multiple times.

"I'll be right back Mikasa" She nodded and I left the room and called them.

Mikasa's pov

I sat on the bed, just thinking about everything and anything, but before I knew it my thoughts drifted to Jean. How nice he is, how funny he is, how fit he is but also how broken he is, how he became so broken and how I want to fix him. I thought about how I might just be falling head over heels for this guy.

Timeskip. 11.30pm

We finished our food, had our showers and were now getting ready to go to bed I got changed and hit the covers. Although I can understand why Jean won't sleep in the bed, I can't help but feel bad for him to be sleeping on the the floor.

I fell asleep for what felt like the whole night but when I checked my phone I saw that it was only for a few hours. I sat up, looked around and just as I was about to go back to sleep I realised that Jean wasn't in the room and he was on the balcony, asleep. I let out a small chuckle and muttered

"dumbass" I walked up to him, picked him up and carried him to the bed, I felt him hug me and we slept, peacefully.
I woke up at 11 and Jean was still sleeping so I figured I'd wake him up after I got changed.

"Jean" I called "Jean we have to go and check out"

"Yeah I'm just getting my stuff together" I smiled at his response, I don't know how or why but it humoured me.

We walked out of the room and to the counter, since Jean bought the room he dealt with all the formalities.

I noticed that after he was done the receptionist asked him a question which he must've been uncomfortable answering and so instead of answering he just slid a card on the counter and left.

"If you ever need me give me a call" he handed me a card and we went our separate ways. He must've saw me looking at it earlier.

I've always thought we had a connection, unspoken of course.
