Jean's pov - Days until Saturday : 7
22:25pm
We were all sat in a circle around the fire, Armin and Annie cuddled in one blanket, Eren and Christa cuddling in another and Sasha and Connie where sharing as well. Bertoldt couldn't be here so Reiner and Mikasa got a blanket to themselves.
"Sorry again Jean about the blankets, I guess I didn't bring enough" Eren said smugly, I didn't want to fight so I just walked away.
"Don't worry I'm not that cold anyway" I said. I looked down and the fire was close to going out
"I'm going to get some more wood, the fire looks like it's going to go out" I walked away from them in search of some wood.
Mikasa's pov
We were just talking, laughing, having fun embarrassing each other. We played some games, did some forfeits but Jean still wasn't back.
Around 90 minutes after Jean left, I heard a loud rustling behind the log I was sat on,
"Did you guys hear that?" I said they all looked at me in confusion and then they started laughing again
"Mikasa the joke doesn't work when someone's already used it" Sasha said. I rolled my eyes and stood up.
"I'm not joking I actually did hear something behind me" I seriously wish Jean was here right now. I looked behind me to see a winter coat stuffed with wood. I walked over to it
"You know, you guys are really funny," I said turning around, "so" I walked back to them with the coat in hand "who put it there?" I emptied all the wood onto the fire. They didn't respond. I was about to lose it,
"does anyone know whose coat this is? " I asked
"Mikasa, that coat," I looked at Sasha as she talked. She looked at Connie and then back at me.
"that coat, it's Jean's. Me and Connie bought it for his birthday." Holy shit. My eyes widened at the thought. If Jean's coat is here, Where the fuck is he?
"WE NEED TO LOOK FOR HIM!" Connie said. Sasha nodded in agreement.
"why?" Eren asked. "Worst case scenario, he'll see his brother again" we all looked at Eren with disgust including his own girlfriend, I noticed Connie and Sasha walk towards me. He only whispered
"He told you what happened, right? With his family?" I nodded.
"Eren's right. He could die. I don't think his dad could take another death. Especially not Jean and not now" I looked at him confused
"what do you mean 'not Jean and not now'? Last time I checked Jean's father hated him" they subtlety shook their heads. They were about to carry on but they were interrupted,
"we can't waste time!" Armin said we all looked to him for our plan as he is our strategist
"We should split up, cover more ground. I'll go North with Annie, Eren and Christa go East , Sasha and Connie head South , then that leaves Mikasa and Reiner going west. If anthing happens it goes straight on the group chat" we all split up and started looking.
When we started to walk away from the group, I started to to notice Reiner taking a glance or two at me. I was busy looking for Jean so I had to ignore him.
"Were you two close? You and Jean, I mean." I looked up at him in confusion,
"what?" he kept moving the branches out the way of our path
"I mean I've never seen you so worried" I rolled my eyes
"You've hardly seen me anyway" I muttered under my breath
"we met a few weeks ago, got pretty close" I smiled at this fact, but the smile soon faded away.
"Now don't get me wrong I love Jean but he's an egotistical bastard, a dumb fuck, the prick that every girl likes and he has the audacity to be good at literally everything "
Oh yeah. I forgot they don't know about Jean's situation. How much he's struggling. How much he's trying to hang on. How much he's working.
I don't like this. I don't like how he's talking so much shit about his friend without batting an eyelash. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Reiner I'm going that way" I cut him off, "you go that way" I was about to continue but my phone started to vibrate I pulled I out of my pocket to see a text from Sasha
'We have found him and brought him back to camp safely'
"what does it say?" Reiner asked I began to tear up "Mikasa are you okay?" before I knew it I was running back to camp.
"Mikasa!" I didn't stop, I couldn't. I had to see if he was okay. I just had to.
When I got back I saw that everyone was already here. When I walked closer I saw Jean asleep by the fire, with a blanket.
"Mikasa!" Connie called. I looked over to se him and Sasha walking over to me.
"how is he?" I asked them.
"We don't know we found him asleep, shivering"He was asleep. In the woods
"but do you really think he would fall asleep in the woods? Me or Sasha? Maybe. Jean, highly unlikely" I didn't think about that
"I think we should take him to the hospital then, just in case and plus the last time I saw him shiver like that he fainted and was having a nightmare" I added. We agreed on getting a taxi to the hospital calling his dad and then coming back here.
"what're you guys talking about?" Eren walked over with Christa hanging on his arm. We all groaned internally knowing he's going to make this a bigger deal than it already was.
"What to do with Jean." He rolled his eyes
"Just leave him here he's already half dead"
"hey Sasha, Connie can you help carry him the taxi's here" I said, walking over to Jean. I could feel him shake in my hands and I hated it. Once again I couldn't do anything.
The taxi ride was silent and when we got to the hospital we checked him in and they started the check up. Sasha Connie and I were sent to the waiting room until they finished.
After around 35 minutes the doctor came out of Jean's room and starting walking towards us.
"how is he?" I asked.
"He's asleep but he's fine" we all sighed in relief
"are we allowed to see him?" "you can" I was about to leave but he stopped me
"by the way he has got an unbelievable amount of scars on his back so be careful" we all looked down in sorrow.
"Mikasa we're going back to the others now, are you coming with?" I smiled at their kindness
"no thanks there's something I want to ask him but We'll meet you at Sasha's in a bit" he nodded and caught up with Sasha.
I walked to his door and hesitantly opened it. He was stood up. With trousers half up his legs. And no shirt. It took us a few seconds to process what was going on. I had just seen my crush in his boxers.

My face turned red and I left and shut the door immediately. I heard him put his clothes on and I sighed part relief, part disappointment. When the door opened I jumped into his arms and held him close
"Are you okay?" he nodded "don't ever scare me like that again" I took his hand "let's go" I said.
Sasha's house - Jean's pov
Everyone cheered as we entered the room, someone neighed like a horse, but that doesn't matter.
I was showered with the usual. 'are you okay' 'how do you feel?' and 'don't push yourself' but when we got settled in we did the classic gender split.
Sasha's house was big so we needn't worry about space but what we did need to worry about was the girls' truth or dare. This is where the night really starts
