Chapter 12🖤

(y/n)'s POV

It was starting to get late so Kyotani and I decided to watch a movie in my room before going to sleep. We watched another horror movie on my laptop and ate some popcorn (or another snack if you dislike popcorn).

We were sat on my bed watching the movie, I was trying to keep some distance between us so that I didn't make Kyotani uncomfortable (and I was still avoiding looking at his chest while he was shirtless). Despite keeping us apart, I couldn't deny that I wanted to be closer to him.

Kyotani seemed too interested in the movie to care. It was rare to see him smile, he only seems to when he's hit a spike in volleyball or if he's watching a movie he likes. I found myself being too interested in Kyotani to watch the movie.

I had honestly forgotten about the movie until a character screamed in it, scaring me and causing me to flinch. Kyotani's attention immediately turned to me when he saw me flinch,

"(y/n)? you okay?" His voice didn't sound too different from usual but I was sure he sounded quite concerned.

"Yeah, sorry I just got abit shocked." I tried to sound like it didn't scare me but Kyotani could tell.

He reached out and grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers and pulling me closer to him.

I was still quite hesitant but quickly moved even closer and leant my head on his shoulder. Kyotani rested his head on mine and we carried on watching the movie.

By the end of the movie Kyotani had one arm behind me, resting over my shoulders, and his other hand placed on my thigh.

We stayed sat together in silence for a while after the movie had ended, just enjoying being close to eachother.

Eventually I started to become tired and Kyotani noticed,
"I think I'm gonna go to sleep now, you should too you look tired,"

"Ah okay," I said as Kyotani started to leave.
I watched as he walked out the door and quickly moved my laptop aside to chase after him, "Kyotani wait! I-" I was in such a rush to get to him that I ran directly into him.

"Ah! Sorry! I just wanted to say umm.." I didn't even know what I wanted to say to him,

"Yeah? What's up?"

"I uh just wanted to say goodnight! That's it," I smiled at him and he chuckled slightly.

"Goodnight to you too, I guess"

We both stood there for a few seconds, unsure of what to do.

"Is that it, or did you want a goodnight kiss?" He teased,

I immediately became flustered and started to stutter, "I uh, a goodnight kiss? I-"

"I was joking dumb*ss," He laughed and pulled me into a hug.

I froze for a moment, realizing Kyotani was still shirtless, but couldn't help but hug him back.
When we pulled apart I swore I could've seen him smiling.

We went back to our separate rooms and tried to sleep. I immediately buried my face into my pillow and silently squealed. I realized that I really liked Kyotani and I was quite certain he liked me too.
