Maybe It's Fate? || Kyotani x Reader

Chapter 5🖤

(y/n)'s POV

It was a week into the school year and for some reason, me and Kyotani had been walking to and from class together. I didn't ask him to walk with me but he told me to wait for him and then we walked together.

He'd still be going out of his way to make me flustered when he felt like it by winking at me or even just making eye contact with me. He started doing it when the teacher was nearby so that I'd get asked what was wrong.

I was sat with (b/f/n) watching the volleyball team practice. We were watching Yahaba practice his serves, when I heard a loud smack echo throughout the gym. I quickly jumped up to my feet and looked for where the sound came from.

On the other side of the gym, the team had gathered around someone on the floor. Without thinking I ran to grab the first aid kit before sprinting towards everyone else.

A few of the first years saw me running and moved aside so I could get to who was on the floor, I got there to see Kyotani sat on the floor, covering his eye and having a nosebleed onto his clothes.

I kneeled down beside him, and stopped myself before doing anything,

"Tooru, Iwazumi, can you please get him to the bench. Kyotani, please don't complain or get angry cause I'm helping you whether you like it or not." I said quietly so that he wouldn't get teased by Yahaba.

They took him to the bench and I stood in front of him and handed him an ice pack to hold over his eye. I leaned closer and wiped the blood from his face. He looked shocked that I was more calm and collected than usual.

I finished wiping the blood and moved the ice pack to check his eye before telling him to keep it there for a while.

He growled slightly as a reply, I stood there for a few seconds before realizing how close I was to him.

Heat immediately rushed to my face, I quickly apologized and started backing away. I stepped back and managed to trip over and soon enough I was sat on the floor in front of Kyotani.

He stared at me for a few seconds before letting out a small laugh. He stood up and held out his hand. I sat, absolutely mortified at what I'd done, and after a couple of seconds I took his hand as he helped me get onto my feet.

Once I was stood up, I let go of his hand and thanked him. He quickly moved his hand to grab me by the waist and pull me closer to him.

I gasped quietly and looked up at him, he smirked,

"Hey (y/n), if you're gonna keep coming here to watch practice, keep watching me, okay?"He said to me, quiet enough so that nobody else could hear.

"U-uh okay.." I nodded slightly and tried to pull away from him, causing him to pull me even closer to him,

At this point (b/f/n) had told Yahaba what was happening, he'd told the rest of the team and they were all staring at us.

I didn't realize that everyone else was watching us until I heard a shout from across the gym,

"Just kiss already!"

I looked around to see the entire team laughing, and when I turned back to Kyotani, glaring at them.

He looked down at me and smirked, I felt his grip on my hip loosen as he moved his hand to my face,

He put his hand on the side of my head before making me look at him more. I would've said something if I wasn't as shocked,

I gently placed me hand on top of his and gave a small smile. I saw a small blush emerge on his face and let out a small giggle. He glared at me and I laughed more.

I put my other hand on his shoulder and stood on my tip toes as I kissed him on the cheek and quickly jogged over to (b/f/n), my face feeling like it was burning from how much I was blushing.

The entire team stood shocked for a while before getting back to practice,

On the way home, (b/f/n), Tooru and Iwazumi all spoke about what had happened. Tooru even quizzed me about it once we were home.

He gave up after a while, since I wouldn't answer him, but before he went to his room     he showed me a photo on his phone.

It was me and Kyotani, as I kissed his cheek.

"Do you want me to send yo-"

"Yes please!"

He laughed at me quick answer and sent me the photo before running to his room and calling Iwazumi,

"IWA CHAN, I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT!"
