(y/n)'s POV

Tooru, Iwazumi and I had planned to take the team to watch a movie for Kyotani's birthday.

Kyotani told Iwazumi and I that he didn't want the whole team to know it was his birthday so we made Tooru promise to not tell anyone.

We told the team that we were all going to watch a movie together as a celebration for everyone's progress in volleyball.

When it came to choosing the movie, we all had different idea's.

Tooru wanted to watch a romance movie,

Iwazumi wanted to watch an action movie,

Personally, I didn't want to watch any of the movies that were available but I recommend we watch one of the horror movies that were being shown as Kyotani would like it more.

They agreed as we all wanted Kyotani to have a good birthday.

We told the entire team to meet outside of the cinema/movie theater at 5pm since the movie started at 5:30.

When Tooru, Iwazumi and I arrived, we were surprised to see that Kyotani was the first person their.

I ran over to greet him,

"Hey Kyotani! Happy birthday!"

I watched a small blush appear on his face and he quickly looked away from me,

"T-thanks, (y/n)." He mumbled while he fidgeted with the ends of his jacket's sleeves.

I became slightly flustered at his reaction but tried to be calm, "Yeah uh, it's fine,"

"Oh yeah, can I sit with you while we watch the movie," He was calm again as he spoke, "You're the person I like the most here, other than Iwazumi but he'll be sitting with Oikawa."

I felt myself becoming more excited at the thought of spending more time with Kyotani and quickly answered with a smile, "Of course! I'd love to,"

We stood and spoke while we waited for the team.

Once everyone had arrived, we went inside to get snacks before the movie.

I wasn't hungry so I just got a milkshake (or another drink if you don't like milkshakes).

Kyotani got the same drink as me and we went to sit in the seats we'd reserved.

We booked the entire back row for the team so me and Kyotani sat on the edge, I was in the corner.

After a while, the lights went out and the movie started. Kyotani looked far happier than usual as he watched the screen. He grabbed and drank his drink without looking away from the screen before putting it back in the armrest's cup holder.

I found myself getting distracted by Kyotani and not watching the start of the movie. I couldn't help but look at the small smile on his face as he looked invested in the intro.

I noticed how long I'd been looking at him and quickly looked away before grabbing my drink from the cup holder. I looked at the screen (trying to understand what was happening in the movie) while I drank my drink.
