chapter 10: the call

I was woken up by someone breathing hard and moving around a lot, I quickly looked over to my side as I see corpse. He looks as if he was in a panic, is it a nightmare maybe?

"No..no.no, Stop... please. STOP!"I corpse shouts,

I sit up quickly looking over to my side, watching corpse toss and turn, I grab ahold of his shoulders shaking him a bit,

he quickly sits up. Breathing hard. He puts his hand onto his chest. Looking over towards me, with his eyes shining.
Looking like he's on the verge of tears. That is almost spilling out his darkened eyes.

"T-they were hurting me s-sykkuno " corpse choked out looking at me.

I look at him, as I open my arms a bit gesturing for him to give me a hug, he stares at my longingly, and then takes it, as he wraps his arms around me. resting his head on my shoulder. I slowly rub his back in tiny circles in a way of comfort.

"Its okay corpse. It was just a nightmare " I whispered softly to corpse.

"But it felt like they were right there. I-I tried to scream. But they pushed me down. And showed my face . To everybody . And they called me weak. And it feels like yesterday was a year ago. And I don't want anybody to know. Because everybody wants something from me now." Corpse whispered clearly shaken up by the nightmare he had.

"As long as I'm here corpse.. no one can hurt you. Only if I could change the way that you see yourself.... nobody deserves you."
I state as I feel corpse tighten to hug. Not letting go.

I lay my hand on the back of his head. Playing with his hair a bit
After a while I can feel his breathing ease up a bit, and now his heart beat is at a normal pace.

I softly move him a bit. Laying him onto his bed. Now noticing that he had fallen asleep on me.

I look over my shoulder, catching my eye on the time, 6:34 am.
I mean I might as well get up?

What would I do though? This isn't my house. Well... maybe I should make him breakfast, since he had a rough Night maybe some um.. pancakes! Make him feel better.

Yeah pancakes make everybody feel better right? Well we won't know until we find out right. I think to myself as I slid out of the warm bed, having my feet hit the cold floor.

I slowly start to walk to the door. Walking on the cold wooden floor, I wrapped my fingers around the doorknob, and slowly opened it trying not to wake up corpse. Holding my breath.

I walk out closing the door trying to be as quiet as I can, I close the door behind me as I breath out.

Now where is his kitchen at? I ponder to myself walking away.
He has a pretty nice apartment actually I never really seen all of it, I think to myself as I find the living room,

Running my hand over the cold leather, I turn my head around and spot the kitchen. Walking up to it, I look around the kitchen inspecting the room, the wooden cabinets were tinted with a fake brown color, making The pale marble counters stand out,

I take a deep breath as I start to open the cabinet next to the stove, exposing the glass cups, coffee mugs, plates. And bowls. I scan it closely, nope no pans here.

I move to the lower one pulling the drawer out, with utensils spoons, forks, straws, knives. Etc,

I bend down a bit, opening the bottom cabinet, seeing a stack of pans and pots, with the lids, oh good I think to myself as I grab a stainless steel pan,

Placing it upon the marble counter. Now for the ingredients, now what do you need for pancakes again? I need flour, sugar, baking powder, salt milk and egg vegetable butter and I suppose that's all.
