A/N:  this isn't gonna make much sense unless you read Keefe's special edition Flashback short story first. But just a summary of it: basically Alden goes to see Keefe and tells him to stop pursuing Sophie and to let Fitze and Sophie be happy

Dear Battle Journal,

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am really mad right now. The nerve of that snob! I liked Aden at first because he was nice to Keefe. That boy has mommy AND daddy issues; he needs a nice parental figure for once.

But then this morning happened. Ugh! And now Keefe is heartbroken, just wanting to do the right thing for Sophie and Fitz, and grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Let's just say that if I could murder Alden without getting caught and throwing the elf world in a whole lot of trouble, I'd definitely do it. Doesn't Alden have better things to do than get involved with his son's potential relationship? Like, come on, get a life, Alden.

I obviously think Team Foster-Keefe is better than Fitzphie. But I'm not going to go to Fitz and tell him that he doesn't have a chance and to "let them be happy"!! We're talking about teenagers for the Council's sake. When I was a teenager, I thought Cad was amazing! That should show you how much teenage emotions make sense.

And Fitz is just not as nice as Keefe is. I get that everyone loves the dark-haired bad boy, but that's not even Fitz. That'd be more like Tam. Fitz is kinda just the dark-haired loser. How many times has Fitz completely lost his temper at Sophie for things that weren't even her fault? Exactly. Not the best relationship, IMO.

Now take Team Foster-Keefe. *insert cheer* Keefe makes Sophie feel safe and happy! Keefe makes Sophie his #1 priority! Keefe has never yelled at Sophie in his life! There's really no competition. And if Alden hadn't stuck his little face into all this, I am willing to bet half of my swords that Sophie would've chosen Keefe all the way. And we all know I don't lose bets.

What makes me even madder is that Alden used his relationship with Keefe to try to make it seem like he wanted the best for Keefe. Exactly how many times did Alden visit Keefe when he was on bed rest? Zilch. Zero. None. And now he comes to try to "help" Keefe by telling him that he has no hope of dating Sophie and he should just let Fitz and Sophie be happy. GRRRRRRR.

Even if Sophie did choose to date Fitz, she's how old again? Fourteen? Fifteen? That's simply not going to be an endgame right there. I was dating Cadfael at that age!

Not to mention Alden just told him to stay away from Sophie's and Fitz's "relationship" as if it was a dating relationship. Which made Keefe think that Alden knew something he didn't. He feels that Sophie should choose whoever she wants whether or not it's based on head emotions. He keeps repeating that heart emotions could change at any point. Which is adorable. But he's forgetting that it's not the end! Why should he listen to Alden? Why should he have to conceal his crush on Sophie? If Keefe has to do that, then should Fitz have to as well? What's the difference between Alden doing this and emotionally manipulating Keefe and me going to Fitz and threatening him? Where's the line in all this?

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, looks like I'll be dealing with a lot of teenage boy angst tonight- but for once, he might actually have a good reason for it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Time skip to the next morning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm still so mad at Alden! I had to listen to Keefe cry all night! Does he have any idea how annoying that was? I couldn't get to sleep all night!
Plus it was heartbreaking, but you'll never catch me saying that.
Speaking of heartbreaking, looks like I'll need to step up my Team Foster-Keefe goals. Keefe has practically decided to give up. He thinks that Fitz and Sophie are like, practically dating. And that he'd just mess it up.
Let's give it up for Alden! Who somehow managed to take Keefe's already low self-esteem and made it even lower. Yay. That sounds like such a caring adult to me. *heavy sarcasm*
What was even more tear-jerking is that since he was going to see Sophie that day, he spent 2 hours longer in the bathroom making sure he didn't look like he'd been crying all night.
As if he needed more excuses to stay in the bathroom to look in the mirror for longer. Okay, okay I know I'm probably not being the nicest to Keefe right now, especially after snobby Alden told him to basically just stay away from his crush. But Keefe actually composed an ode to himself while he was just in the bathroom staring at the mirror. And yes, it ended up mostly about how his hair is great and eavesdropping bodyguards are annoying and the name Cassius is a bad word in his language. I mean, what the heck?
Why am I even explaining myself? It's weird. It's not like this journal is ever going to be read by anybody. Ha, what if this somehow got its way into the Forbidden Cities and somebody copied it into fan fiction that humans read?
Okay, now I'm just rambling. From lack of sleep. It's all Alden's fault. I'll forever dislike Alden for this. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
A/N: Ugh I got stuck with horrible writer's block for no reason.
