It was raining, but Jaemin didn't care for the drops that soaked his baseball cap. It was old and beaten with use, soon to be discarded in the heat of pursuit.

His eyes focused on the colorful lights of the diner that was slowly approaching him, or the diner that he was approaching -- it hardly mattered, the wording of it. So his hand reached out to grasp onto the wet doorknob, the front lights casting a brief flash over the ink that curled over his fingers, wrist, and up his jacket sleeve.

The door was pulled open and a constant chatter of conversation, music, and the clanging of utensils greeted him. He looked around, catching sight of a ground of friends playing at the cheap arcade before he looked back to the dining area. There wasn't a lot of people, but there also wasn't a depletion of them and Jaemin puckered his lips together, reaching up to adjust his cap over his face.

He set sights on one of the empty booths and wandered towards it, passing several other couples. An older couple having a nice dinner; a pair of girls on a date which seemed close to it's end as they shared a slice of chocolate cake; a boy with a black beanie who was avidly reading a paperback, the second half of the book folded behind the first.

Jaemin tapped his fingers against the table top of his desired booth and sat down, looking around. Nothing out of the ordinary, not yet anyways. But his instructions had been to come here, and there was no doubt in his mind that this was the right place. As mundane as it looked.

He rolled his shoulders back and fixed his posture, wiping some of the droplets off the arm of his leather jacket. He adjusted his cap.

"Here's your menu sir, would you like anything to drink?" a kind waitress ask, the statement said with ease and familiarity and Jaemin smiled politely.

"A coffee please, no milk or sugar."

"Coming right up," came the energetic response despite the dark skies and the late time of day. Jaemin smiled with his eyes and watched as she walked away. He flipped the top of the menu to the table and then the bottom of the menu to touch the table top, clicking his tongue before looking down at the words.

He wasn't particularly hungry, but he still felt as though he needed to buy something out of obligation and societal norms. I already ordered coffee Jaemin mumbled half-heartedly to himself as he flipped disinterestedly though the pages.

A few minutes had passed before - "Here's your coffee sir."

"Oh, thank you."

"Have you decided on anything to eat, or are you still looking?"

"I haven't decided yet, would you be so generous as to give me more time sweetheart?"

A laugh followed the teasing statement, "Of course, take your time sweetheart~"

The white, ceramic mug didn't fit correctly in Jaemin's hand but he didn't mind much, too focused on the addicting drink as he pressed his chapped lips against the lip of the mug. Delicious. Although it was only a diner's coffee, it was still enjoyable -- he still preferred his own, however.
