Donghyuck adjusted his issued tie around his neck, pulling at the damp fabric until it hung undone around his neck. He then moved to unbutton the first couple of buttons on his school uniform. The school day was over; Donghyuck couldn't have been happier.

It was hot. So damn hot. Donghyuck felt like he was going to melt, and that most definitely wasn't an exaggeration. Sitting in those stuffy classrooms for hours on end was enough to drive a person insane, and the little fans that the district gave to the classrooms did little to nothing to help fend off the sultry summer weather.

The student's bag hung loosely around one of his arms and, as much as he wanted to get home, his pace slowed — the result of the dampening heat and beautiful sky. Donghyuck loved to watch the sky. It was always changing from the lightening blue in the mornings to the rich apricot, velvet purple, and rouge of the setting sun. In between that, it would be a deep blue or a grey depending on the weather.

It was fickle; as emotions tended to be.

The street was mostly empty save for a couple of people out running errands, but the shops were filled as they usually were. From cafes to other restaurants to a small gaming building the small street was filled with entertaining activities and Donghyuck smiled to himself as he passed his favorite shop -- an old shop with furniture made out of recycled bits and served the best cups of coffee in the area. Abrupt and sharp jazz emitting from the interior, Donghyuck continued on.

He was going to his friend Jaehyun's house, as was a normal occurrence after school. The two had a strange relationship, and Donghyuck had been told on multiple occasions to stay away from the older boy. This was mainly because Donghyuck was finishing up his third year of high school and Jaehyun was currently finishing up his third year of college.

An unconventional relationship, and that certainly hadn't helped staunch the rumors that arose of their acquaintance. His family and his best friends - Jeno and Mark - had told him on several occasions not to see him anymore. They were worried about certain things, but their relationship wasn't like that! Really!

And it wasn't as if Donghyuck would mind. If their relationship was...what everyone already thought it was.

The younger, sun-kissed boy ruffled his hair and slicked it back with the sweat dampening his head, his forehead exposed for the world to see. You see, Donghyuck was an attractive boy. Extremely so. He had curly brown hair that complimented his skin tone unnaturally well, and the russet tone of his eyes just worked to complete his monochrome appearance. His smile won the hearts of the entire student body and the way his eyes crinkled up when he laughed....

Donghyuck caught sight of Jaehyun's small house just ahead and he sped up, no longer looking at the sky but rather desperate to get out of the summer sun. The dust kicked up under his shoes and the foliage of trees that now surrounded the street and houses was a welcome shade. The small house was wooden and settled in the middle of a bunch of trees, a small stream trickling away to his left and a set off space for a garden to his right.

The door was open, as were many of the windows and Donghyuck tugged off his shoes, placing them by the front door before walking further into the house, sliding his backpack to rest in his hands. Immediately to his right was the living room area and Donghyuck placed his bag by the door, craning his head around to see if Jaehyun was in the kitchen next to the living room.
